Rising Stars: Meet Lolita Frazier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lolita Frazier.

Hi Lolita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Lolita Frazier ask me who I am or what I do and you’ll hear me say professional model, runway coach, pageant trainer, motivational speaker, reinvention coach, and confidence coach. Then in 2016 everything changed because my son was murdered.

He was my “sun”, my Laylo, my heart, my joy. He was killed by a hurt person in an act of gun violence and it shattered my world. I felt pain and so much anger. I lost hope and happiness. I wanted to lash out and find justice. It crippled my ability to move on in my life.

It was during those moments I realized that I was being held hostage by the trauma of my son’s death. I had forgotten how to strut through life. I had lost my ability to feel safe and in turn my confidence to be who I knew I was…

I had to make a decision. Walk-in constant pain and anger or heal my hurt. I chose healing and decided to strut through it.

I use my skills and training as a confidence coach to turn my life around and regain my power. Now, in addition to runway coaching, I specialize in self-confidence coaching for anyone who needs that extra push to get what they want out of life and the inspiration to overcome life’s challenges. I work with those who have suffered a trauma, …any trauma…disabilities or illness, cancer, loss of a loved one, loss of a pet, at-risk youth, personal injury or anxiety/depression…if you are feeling emotional pain (of any sort) I’m here to help you learn to strut through it and find happiness on the other side.

Since losing my son in 2016, I also loss my niece Jocelyn Frazier, age 26 to a hurt person (Domestic violence) and my nephew Dylan Edmunds, 20 years old to another hurt person (Gun violence)

Through my trauma, I realized that we are all hurt people who are walking in pain, just like the persons who killed my sun (son), niece, and nephew. The more people we heal, the more sons and daughters we save!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

My road has never been smooth. I have delt with many struggles and I am grateful for each of them. I believe that life is on purpose, my struggles have help to create the strength that I have today. I like to call them “Life’s lessons” I have had my own personal battles with depression, loss of hope and know what it’s like firsthand to want to throw in the towel and simply “Give up” But my passion for life has never allowed me to do so or even come close.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In 2019 I created Strut Talk Runway Therapy, a thriving 501c3 non-profit organization that located in Columbia Sc

Strut talk runway therapy is a resource that is changing the way people deal with the trauma caused by life’s challenges (Gun violence, domestic violence, depression, breast cancer, mental illness, etc.)

Strut talk runway therapy is a resource that is changing the way people deal with the trauma caused by life’s challenges (gun violence, domestic violence, depression, breast cancer, mental illnesses, etc.)

Our organization provides the emotional support that is needed to help mothers of murdered children and other survivors and victims move forward after or during a traumatic situation. Not only does Strut Talk Runway therapy help mothers and survivors deal with grief but we also create a community of support to help victims get through hard times, rebuild their confidence and self-esteem.

Our mission is to use the art of runway walking as a form of empowerment to encourage, inspire and

motivate hurt people to release, forgive and strut through their pain. Change your posture, change your mindset.

What sets me apart from others is that I AM ME! This is my story; I survived something that most people couldn’t imagine as well created a program that is one of its kind, that has inspired men, women, and children all over the world. I am the example of what “Strutting thru it” looks like.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned during this journey is that we are all hurt people who need healing.

I used to look at the person who killed my son as a killer, but now I look at him as a hurt person with a gun who was held hostage to his own hurt and pain. When we do not take the time to heal from life’s Challenges they don’t just go away, they grow and can become something that’s greater than we could ever imagine, and one bad decision can cost a life, in my case, it was three.

Learning to accept and forgive the things that have caused me hurt has allowed me to release them and find power and purpose through my pain. Understanding that we all have a story and that these hard times aren’t the end but instead just chapters of our book called “Life”. Regardless of what you’ve been through or maybe going through you have the power inside of you to Strut Thru it!!!

Change your posture, Change the life… You can’t be down when you’re standing TALL!

Healed people Heal PEOPLE is what is what I now focus on.
