Rising Stars: Meet Jared Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Smith. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Jared “J.ANDERS” Smith is a published author of two books, coach, speaker, investor, and the young man who is filled with bold positive energy and is truly a force to be reckoned with. Dubbed as the “voice of the underdog”, he shares his bold positive energy and his realistic approach to life to really connect with people. The soon-to-be 30-year-old young man has made it his mission to help people maximize their full potential by giving them the tools, resources, and inspiration needed to win in life.

Jared has been motivating and inspiring others long before becoming an author or speaking in front of large audiences. From being voted president over the youth at his childhood church, being a captain on sports teams, and being in leadership roles with companies, Jared has always found himself being in positions where he can help others tap into their potential–even when he was a 17-year-old inmate in Gwinnett County jail facing 20 years of prison.

Today, this once convicted felon, homeless, lost young man uses personal stories from his own life journey to provide insight to others about how to accomplish their prey in life. He aims to travel the country and the world to help provide individuals and businesses with the tools needed to redefine their mind and environments, so they can create the space necessary for the important positive shifts that make every day better than the last.

With exceptional guidance and contagious enthusiasm and entertainment, Mr. J.ANDERS guarantees a lasting impression anywhere he goes. Although Jared stays very busy, but he enjoys spending time with family, friends, traveling, trying new food places, and playing basketball and chess.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being the oldest of his siblings and growing up with his single mother, Jared had overcome tough living conditions that came with living in poverty. After becoming another statistic to the justice system, Jared has also overcome being a convicted felon. While battling his court case and after several eviction notices, he and his family eventually went homeless in Atlanta, GA.

Overcoming poverty, being a convict, and homelessness is what prompted Jared to write the two books that he has written to help others overcome similar circumstances.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Yes, I’ve always been a risk-taker! I took a risk when I left my last company to come in as a direct hire with BMW. I was working for another company when I received a call back from BMW. The president of the company offered me a significant amount of money to stay. They gave me two weeks to think about it. After thinking on it, I decided to take my talents to BMW after all. My family were all telling me not to do it and it was going to be a bad decision.

I’m blessed to say today that has been one of my best decisions I’ve made. Although that company offered me a lot of money, I didn’t want my decision to just about the money. I looked at the bigger picture. I asked myself, “which company will help get my family and I in a better position long term. Although, I really needed the extra money because I had exhausted my finances at the time, I still took the risk to go to BMW.

That risk has paid off big time, and I’m enjoying my career at BMW!
