Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Roberson.
Hi Bethany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Bethany Roberson. I am currently a college student. I will be graduating soon with a degree in Exercise Science. I am very ambitious and goal oriented. I have always had a dream to be an Entrepreneur. I feel as if I work for myself then I have the opportunity to do things the way that I want and be as creative as I want to be.
I’m creating the life I used to dream about. I’ve realized even with my degree I have bigger plans for myself. So, I found the passion for Entrepreneurship and created my own brand. The main goal within my businesses is to “Create your own beauty by being as creative as possible.” I became interested in doing lashes because I would always get compliments on how long and thick my natural lashes are. People would tell me that they wish that their lashes was long and thick like mines. It was at that moment that I decided I would do lashes. So, I attended classes and did research on the process and what I had to do to make this happen. After researching, I put my plan in motion. I started my lash business. I won’t stop at just lashes. I am starting to work on creating my own label and clothing line. I want to create items that make people feel happy on the inside. I will create designs of items that would make people feels like they are expressing their emotions and creative self. I am very excited on my next project. I want to create a clothing line and a label. I want to make sure that everything I set my mind to I follow through. I want to build an empire for myself. My creativity and ideas are evolving and coming along. There are so many opportunities to be as creative with the idea of beauty and self-expression. I want to make sure I give myself many opportunities to be as expressive as I want to be through my items.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say Entrepreneurship is based on your performance and drive. The journey is not always easy but if it is something you want you must work for it. It takes lots of discipline, self-reflection and motivation to get where I am today. I am always thinking of ways to make things better. I am researching all the time on how to make things inviting and eye pleasing. If people like what they see then there are many opportunities for purchases and success. My goal is to stay consistent, strive to be the best that I can be and to listen to what people want. To also be true to yourself. Surround yourself with positivity. To set goals for yourself and always finish what you start. I would say research, guidance and knowledge plays an important factor in success. It takes a lot of time, hard work, effort and energy to be successful. If you stay focus and work hard you will be rewarded in the end. end go You would realize that all the hard work you did paid off in the end. I love my journey because I created it for me. I am learning every day to make my goals and accomplishments are reality. I like what I am doing so to me this is not a job it my truth.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently I’m a lash technician for the Lash Idol. I enhance and create all your lash needs. I have been lashing for about a year now. I have really enjoyed being able to make my clients happy with their results afterward. It makes me feel as if I made a difference in my client’s appearance with the enhancement of their lashes. It takes a lot of patience to be a lash technician. There is a lot that goes with doing lashes. You have to be very careful how you apply the lashes. You have to make sure that the eyes are properly cleaned and prep. It’s time consuming because you are applying the lashes one by one. I really love what I do because after each set it’s always a smile at the end of the appointment. I live for small moments like those because I know that I have made that client happy. I want to expand the Lash Idol across the world in the future one lash at a time. I’m always looking for ways to expand myself. I have created a fashion label named ByBethanyMarie currently dropping our first collection this winter called “HEIR”. I always wanted to wear my own clothes so created them. I want my line to be something you can wear anywhere as well as comfortable. I have many projects dropping within the next few years, but I want to expand these two first.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
People don’t know that I love to sing, paint and draw. I have even thought about becoming an artist one day. I would write song about things that have happened in my life. I would always enter art competition as a child and win sometimes. These are mainly hobbies as of right now. Maybe one day art and painting will become a focus. As of now, I would put my art and painting abilities in creating lashes, labels and my clothing line.
