Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Bradley.
Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
At the start of the Summer of 2021, I had just given birth to my 2nd son and was on maternity leave, and I started to feel like I wanted to do something different. I wanted to find a skill, not just a hobby. I never watched any videos, but this Idea kept coming to me like a light bulb. I was fixed on learning how to wax. I started looking up different schools. The cost was discouraging. Someone close to me at the time sent a flyer to me about an esthetician school that was opening in a town where I was raised called Orangeburg, SC. 4 months later, I graduated, and my journey of becoming the Phatmasnatcher began. 2 years later through the ups and downs of being a business owner, dealing with real life, kids being a new wife I’m proud of where I am I’m in rebranding stages for my business. I now have my vajaical aftercare products line called Pretty Lips, which consists of Yoni wash, Turmeric Scrub, & Yoni Oil. I’m located In Cayce, SC.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I have faced many challenges for almost a year. In 2022, I lost 30 pounds due to a mental health condition I was struggling with, so my business took a hit. Behind closed doors, nobody knew what I was dealing with, but with God, my family, friends, and most importantly, my clients, I didn’t give up servicing my clients. It kept me going outside of my family. My clientele started to get rocky, but when I say my loyal clients showed up, kept me open, were a safe place for me, and let me know that even when it seems dark, the light will shine again.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an Esthetician specializing in all waxing, facial services, yoni steams, and vajacials. I now have my vajacial after care product line called Prettylips. I’m known for my waxing & vajacial services & making vajacial videos. I’m most proud of converting people from shaving and getting them into waxing. Also, I was raised in a single-parent home, born in the Bronx, NY, and raised in Orangeburg, SC. What sets me apart is that I don’t see anyone as competition; I see people as mentors in the industry with me or as inspiration. I keep my eyes on my paper and focus on my lane. I’m open to collaborating with anyone or teaching or helping anyone.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important quality or characteristics that help me is being 100% me, my personality, and my vibe. I treat my clients like my family. I have good energy because so many people are dealing with enough, and when they come to me for service, this is their time to relax, cry, vent, and laugh, so I love creating that good energy, that safe place, that vibe because that takes me farther than just money.
