Meet Xiomara Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xiomara Williams.

Xiomara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was a little girl I always displayed a huge interest in beauty! I began doing hair at a very young age, and my first clients were my baby dolls of course! Then, I went on to practice my skills with my little sister (we’re three years apart). I eventually started getting better and better; it took off from there. I’ve never actually worked a “job”, I always worked for myself essentially because of the career I chose.

So, when people ask how long I’ve been doing hair and nails, the proper response is always “my whole life”.I knew making people beautiful is something I enjoy because I never feel burdened by my work! Yes, I get tired like any normal human being but I love to make my clients beautiful and happy!! I’m 24 years old, so being an entrepreneur isn’t the easiest, but I don’t regret one bit of it and I’m still learning as I go!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, the business has been great and thriving. I’ve had my bumps on the road like any other business, but nothing too major to stop me !! Always remember to pray on any move you plan to make when it comes to your life, business, etc. You’re guaranteed to get a better outcome!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I chose “artist” because I feel like that explains what I do best. I’m a licensed cosmetologist. My motto is “ I specialize in everything beautiful”. Which I believe is true. I offer basically all services from hair coloring to braiding, to acrylic full sets, and even manicures, and pedicures.

I’m most proud of my ability to go from one skill to the next. I may have one client coming to get a sew and the next client maybe get a pedicure with designs! What sets me apart is my versatility and my willingness to do all my tasks equally as well!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see major changes happening within the next five years. I definitely plan to use my skills in other ways than just behind the salon chair!!
