Meet Wanda Hawkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wanda Hawkins.

Hi Wanda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It started when I was a young girl I had to be no more than 12 years old I remember doing my hair inside of the girls’ restroom at school because my mom knew nothing about fixing hair And my hair just had to stay cute. Even then I still didn’t take doing hair seriously I would have never thought that hair was my passion. In 2006 I got my braiders license I probably been in the shop no more than two days and went right back to working a 9-5, After years of working a 9 to 5 I realize that I was a boss, so went to Paul Mitchell. hair school in 2018 and that was the best decision I ever made

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has absolutely not been a smooth road you have to have mad faith With running a business you have to believe in yourself when nobody believes in you you have to be consistent I think my toughest challenge was when my mother passed In the middle of me starting my business I wanted to give up I wanted to quit but I didn’t and it made me feel really selfish but I knew my mother would have wanted me to take my business to the next level

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
