Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Lincoln.
Hi Travis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Comedy in 2020 as a 45th birthday bucket list dare. After I participated in an open mic, I was immediately hooked! The pandemic hit shortly afterward, but eventually, as things opened back up, I kept performing until I got to be a part of a comedy showcase in November 2020. I’m originally from Summerville, SC, having lived most of my life in N. Charleston but I currently reside in Columbia, SC. I’ve had the privilege to perform at The Comedy House in Columbia, Comedy Zone in Charlotte and Greenville, and numerous other venues across the Southeast. I’ve opened for Zainab Johnson, Matt Riffe, and Ryan Davis. I was recently selected as a chosen performer in The Kenan Thompson Ultimate Comedy Showcase.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With Comedy, it’s only somewhat smooth. I’ve accomplished more than ever imagined, but not without setbacks and disappointment.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Content Creator and Comedian. What sets me apart is that I infuse my Geechee Heritage in my content on Social Media and my standup.
Who else deserves credit for your story?
I’ve had some people that have helped me along my journey. One of the first people to compliment me within the first few weeks of starting standup was Comedian Mike Goodwin of America’s Got Talent. Those words meant a lot, especially at that time. Others, such as Tara Brown and Robert Taylor, have also been big influences. Keith Dee, Robin Phoenix, and Ricky Hammond also ensured I got to perform in Charleston.
