I’m Tanika Garlington, a licensed beauty professional and educator with 14 years of experience, created Beautyonscales_byTanika in 2019 – an all-natural, organic skincare line formulated to address various skin concerns like acne, rosacea, oiliness, and dryness. After nearly two years developing the chemical-free products, I successfully launched the skincare business. Now, four years later, my thoughtfully crafted skincare continues to provide effective solutions for all skin types.
Can you tell us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth?
My entrepreneurial journey has been challenging, especially when starting my business. Finding a vendor willing to produce the all-natural, organic skincare line I envisioned proved difficult. While many manufacturers opted for chemical ingredients, I was committed to avoiding common allergens and irritants to better serve those with sensitive skin, including my younger customers. So I took matters into my own hands, making the products myself. That decision was pivotal, empowering me to launch a brand I’m proud of. Today, as a successful business owner, I share my skincare expertise with other professionals, eager to educate and inspire.
