Meet Olivia Reiter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Reiter.

Hi Olivia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from State College, PA, and go to school at West Virginia University.

My grandparents are from Charleston and I have been visiting them down here for as long as I remember. Towards the end of my sophomore semester this year, I decided I didn’t want to return home for the summer, but rather embark on a new journey.

I moved down here at the beginning of May only knowing 2 people here, and it was a little scary at first, but it was the best decision I’ve literally ever made. I’ve seen new things, met new people, and experienced a whole lot of sunshine. My favorite part yet was being an extra in Netflix’s Outer Banks.

I did a lot of acting and modeling when I was younger and this really reminded me of my passion for being in front of the camera. I love taking photos for social media in my free time, I would like to grow my platforms more as it is a huge passion of mine.

I am supposed to return back to school in August, but it’s going to be very hard to part with this piece of heaven of a place, I’ve even been reconsidering my school choice haha! Who knows what the future holds, but I sure am glad to have spent some time here for now.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some struggles have been meeting new people. I met some friends on the set of Outer Banks and then went to different bars and restaurants with them to meet other young people.

The best way to meet new people is really just getting out and talking to people. Doing social media, it can be hard to have no one to take your photos, but I’ve learned pretty well how to use a tripod!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now I am working as a server at Islander 71, but I also have a few little side hustles!

I do some background acting for extra cash, as well as brand collaborations on social media! I love being creative with Instagram and TikTok and just planning content.

It’s been awesome not only receiving products from different companies but being paid to do something I love– take pictures!

What do you think about happiness?
The SUNSHINE!!! Being from a state that is cloudy more days than it’s sunny, it’s been so refreshing to always have some vitamin D around here. It’s so important for my overall well-being and I notice such a difference in my moods.
