Today we’d like to introduce you to Meka Green.
Hi Meka, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It started because of my love in reading and writing which led me into spoken word. I have performed on several stages since the 90s. My writing grew into theater and film which led to my first company called I Am Chosen Entertainment, which I am now directing my first feature film. On top of being a spoken word artist, and Filmmaker, I’m also a life coach. That business is called Beyond Your Reflection LLC, which is also my YouTube channel. After a major health scare where I died for two and a half minutes, I had to learn who I was supposed to be and how can I help others. My goal in life, is for people to know my name when I’m no longer here. I’ve turned my passion into a purpose.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
OMG NO!! I’ve NEVER really known what a struggle looked like because I had a silver spoon growing up. My childhood wasn’t the greatest, but I was blessed enough to where myself nor my children never went hungry. For the longest, I was told that I suffer in silence, which is why I was diagnosed with PTSD and depression. Once life got too hard to handle, I no longer had the strength to handle it. With 2 failed suicide attempts, I just learned how to Push Through Struggles Daily. The main issue was the lack of support from family and friends. I’ve ALWAYS was free to give, but NEVER got that in return. It took PLENTY of tears, to become the person I am growing up to be.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My background is in hospitality. I’m now in the customer service field. I work PT at the NASCAR Hall of Fame as a tour guide and crew member. My coworkers make working there easy before I even interact with the customers. I like that I’m allowed to be my happy, goofy self with the customers. I love it when I can create an awarding experience with anyone that I meet. Best believe that I will be remembered during and afterwards. But as far as my passion… My writing and seeing my dreams/films come to life, is truly where my happiness is.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I used to sing and have recorded a demo. And the biggest shocker might be that I’m an introvert!! I can entertain an entire room, but also enjoy just being home alone. I became a life coach and started my Youtube channel because I wanted to help others know just how powerful they truly are. Someone helped me, and now I am giving back as well.
