Today we’d like to introduce you to Mannie Milz.
Hi Mannie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Earl Ortiz I go by the artist name Mannie Milz I’m originally from Brooklyn NYC.
Where I started my music career at warner brothers in artist development. Department teaching writing arrangements and production. I’m now residing here in South Carolina where I offer these services to my community.
I encourage the youth as well as the seniors to participate in learning these skills. As a hobby or career, I offend charge little to no fee for creative industry consultation in which I give valuable information on the pursuit of a recording or distribution deal. My journeys have landed me right in front of some major stars such as Lenny Kavas, Robert de Niro, Chris Rock, Elton John, onyx, Lil Cease and Kim, Waka Flocka, and Naughty by Nature.
And a host of other stars l met or worked with on video and movie sets. After managing a museum in the wall street district for 5 years, I’ve met interesting people from all walks of life which inspired me to want to help people reach or create realistic goals when it comes to entertainment visuals and audio, I also teach the importance of building and merchandising your brand.
I’m now booking seminars. To help connect the dots for career placements.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say the only obstacles I had to overcome were self-doubt and lack of motivation for my craft I had to challenge myself to find an outlet to plug into so the world could see and hear what I’m doing and that’s hard because you have to ask yourself everyday why them and why not you?
Why should someone want to hear or see you? And more importantly why should someone pay for your art? I use to say if it doesn’t make dollars it doesn’t make sense! Now I conduct my business as such because now I’m no longer content with being local. And would rather have global recognition.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I consider myself to be a self-thought songwriter who arranges and produces music for Radio and or TV placements for the artist as well as myself. I’m known for my first debut project “BETTER DAYZ” with the Tate Music Group and my awesome stage performances solo and with artists I’ve produced.
I’m proud I can say I’ve had most of the luxury amenity these artists of the present have such as the Cars/Close/Jewelry but what mostly sets me apart from my peers is I’m the most humbling person you’ll ever meet I’ve learned that’s what makes people want to work with you!
In short, sometimes it’s not about the money but more so what can you again from that experience.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Must say seeing my dad play drums on any and everything as he was the stand-in or replacement drummer at the Apollo theater for Max Rouch.
He’d say you could mix all green with a hard base and drum line and change the game. He changes the way I listen to music now not only do I enjoy it but often wonder how can I make it better or what if.
What if I change the guitar or piano or add a DJ scratch lol.
