Meet Logan Robertson of Mount Pleasant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Robertson.

Logan Robertson

Hi Logan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had my hands on art supplies. Drawing and painting were my creative outlet growing up, and they still do to this day! I started my art journey mainly as a commission-based artist. While I still take commissions, I’ve been focusing on wedding art this past year! In June of 2023, I was asked to live paint at a wedding for the first time. I gladly accepted and was excited about what I thought would be a one-time opportunity. That wedding has led to many other opportunities to capture a couple’s most special day through art. Today, I’ve grown so much as a live wedding artist, and it’s the primary showrunner for my page! Aside from wedding art, I love doing personalized pet ornaments that are a massive hit during the holiday season and commission paintings.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
An artist’s road is never smooth. There are so many ebbs and flows with bookings/commissions. Sometimes, you do multiple jobs or projects a month, and sometimes, it’s just crickets. And that’s okay! I’m working on not filling my plate too much during busy times and not getting discouraged when it’s quiet. It’s easy to become burnt out if you don’t care for yourself. I’ve certainly experienced this and even taken a few years off from doing art because of it. Balancing a full-time job and life in general, on top of being an artist, became too much, and I fell out of love with it. I’m so happy to have gotten my spark back, and now I know how to juggle everything better. I could not be more in love with art now!

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in live wedding paintings! It’s an honor to paint the bride and groom in real-time during the wedding, and guests love to watch the process unfold. It is such a special keepsake that the couple will treasure forever. In addition to these traditional paintings on canvas, I offer guest portraits as a live painting option. This option leaves guests with a unique wedding favor- an illustration of themselves! This makes guests feel so much more connected to an event than just an attendee. This service can also be done at galas, birthday parties, or other events. In addition to live wedding painting, my commissions are always open! I love doing personalized paintings upon request. When the holiday season approaches, I open commissions for custom pet ornaments that people adored last year. These were so much fun, and I’m so excited to start those back up in the fall.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
There is nothing I love more than living in a beach town. There are beautiful beaches, charming landmarks, mouth-watering restaurants, and amazing people! This is my favorite place in the world. My one dislike for Charleston would be the heat! If you’ve never visited before and plan to in warmer months, prepare for endless sweat and curly hair. It is hotter than Hades down here, and you have been warned! The bugs are awful here, too- bug spray is a must.
