Today we’d like to introduce you to Lea Aylor.
Hi Lea, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am Lea Aylor, Chief Executive Officer for Republic Development and Management Group. I grew up in Potomac, Maryland, and now reside in Charleston, SC. Republic Development & Management Group is a prominent hospitality company based in Charleston, South Carolina. Republic Development & Management Group is known for its diverse range of luxury restaurant, lounge, and nightlife establishments. Republic Development & Management Group boasts a portfolio that includes venues such as Republic Garden & Lounge, Bourbon N’ Bubbles, MESU, and Lamar’s Sporting Club – and we’re currently expanding.
After graduating from University of South Carolina, I started working in catering, events, and hospitality in Washington, DC. From there, I took a job in Las Vegas. I got a foot in the door working for some of the world’s most incredible hospitality and entertainment companies (MGM Resorts International – Aria Resort & Casino), and started working my way up the corporate ladder. This experience was and always will be unmatched. Getting the opportunity to work for some of the strongest hospitality leaders and teams in the world will be something I’ll value forever. After being in Las Vegas for over six years, my husband and I wanted to start a family and be closer to our friends and family on the East Coast. In 2021, we made the move to Charleston, South Carolina. I was connected with Leva and Lamar Bonaparte, hospitality gurus and owners of Republic Development and Management Group, and we instantly aligned as we discussed businesses, goals, vision, expansion, and rest is history.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always obstacles and challenges everywhere you turn, whether that is in your personal life or business. I’ve been fortunate to have a smoother road thus far, but I’ve always learned to put my head down and grind, and good things will eventually come your way.

Tailored for clients who appreciate nightlife, sports, and exclusivity, Lamar’s Sporting Club offers an intimate 2,000-square-foot lounge with a timeless and upscale ambiance. The space features opulent elements like dark wood paneling, chandeliers from Prague dating back to the 1800s, subdued lighting, and plush leather banquettes, sofas, and cocktail tables. The decor reflects the sporting club lifestyle, incorporating carefully selected elements such as modern-vintage artwork, wildlife on display, and eclectic bookshelves, one of which provides a hidden entrance to neighboring Republic DMG-owned venue Bourbon N’ Bubbles that guests can access.
Lamar’s maintains its exclusivity by offering reservation-only access to its vibrant nightlife experiences through RESY and VIP Table Inquiries. The venue can be reserved for private events and buyouts, allowing guests to organize gatherings, celebrations, or corporate meetings within the nightlife destination. How do you think about luck?
You have to play to win. I look forward that saying aligning as I move throughout my life and career. I’ve always just pushed myself to outperform those around me and be the best version of myself, personally and professionally. Being able to work closely with the Bonaparte’s and understanding their entrepreneurial spirit is an incredible experience in my career right now.
