Meet Jordan Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Johnson.

Hi Jordan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a small-town girl from Santee, SC. My dreams eventually outgrew the size of my town. After graduating I was accepted into The Fashion Institute of Technology and headed to New York City. In 2019, I graduated with a degree in Fashion Business Management. After that, I headed to Mount Pleasant to assume my position in retail management. When Covid-19 hit I decided like a lot of people to take chance on myself. My hours at my job were lessened, a lot of my staff was laid off, and I needed a release. Therefore, I started growing my social media presence on Instagram, JordanSimoneJohnson. It started out very slow, but I just let my creativity take over. Now, I get at least 2-3 collaboration offers a month.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been far from an easy road. It was very difficult to juggle to two jobs and managing my social media platform, but I made it happen with the help of my mom and close friend, Kayla Williams. In the Summer of 2021, I decided to enroll back into school for a second time at Trident Technical College, so I have even more on my plate now, but I manage to leave no crumbs.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The world would consider me a part-time Social Media Influencer, but a full-time hustler. I would say my greatest achievement would be knowing that I made something out of nothing. Santee is only known for our park and golfing. I made in to New York City and received a degree in my passion, Fashion. From there I was able to create a small business for myself and it is flourishing into something beautiful every day.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
The thing I most admire about Charleston is how much it is expanding. So many people are migrating from all over trying to get a piece of this beautiful city.
