Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Lee Reader.
Jessica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In my 20s, I struggled with chronic digestive issues, adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalances, and burnout. I was doing everything I thought was “right” — eating healthy, taking supplements, exercising — but I still felt exhausted and disconnected from my body. Most doctors brushed it off or tried to give me a prescription. Deep down, I knew there had to be a better way.
That search led me to become the expert I couldn’t find. I earned my Master Nutrition Therapist credential from the Nutrition Therapy Institute in 2010, became a Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach and Yoga Teacher, and spent six years mentoring aspiring nutritionists.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve specialized in gut health, natural weight loss, and hormone balance. As my practice grew, my focus sharpened. I saw so many women navigating perimenopause and menopause facing the same frustrations I had: fatigue, mood swings, weight changes, poor sleep, bloating… and no real guidance. That’s what inspired me to pursue advanced training in Perimenopause and Menopause through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute and create my signature method — a whole-woman, root-cause approach that finally connects the dots.
Today, I offer personalized, science-backed nutrition and mind-body support rooted in nourishment — not restriction, rules, fads, or one-size-fits-all plans. It’s about understanding your body’s needs and gently supporting it with targeted nutrition (based on labs, symptoms, and goals), customized meal planning, sustainable lifestyle shifts, and calming practices like yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness to regulate your nervous system and restore your spark.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Healing is an ongoing practice, not a destination. My healing journey and professional evolution have been incredible and also filled with valuable lessons. It’s taken deep commitment to listen to my body, realign with my true goals, and find my voice in a sea of wellness noise.
Every challenge has brought greater empathy and clarity — not just in what feels good for my health and practice, but in how I want to show up for the women I support. That’s why I focus on sustainable, personalized care — not fads, extremes, or quick fixes. Women deserve better. And I’m here to offer the kind of support I wish I had years ago.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Vitalized Body is my private nutrition and wellness practice, dedicated to helping women in perimenopause and menopause feel like themselves again through science-backed nutrition, nervous system support, and personalized care.
Through my signature program, the Menopause Wellness Method, I work 1:1 with women struggling with symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, bloating, weight changes, sleep issues, and mood swings. They’re high-achieving, heart-led, and exhausted from trying to figure it out alone.
What makes my approach different is that I don’t believe in quick fixes or cookie-cutter protocols. I blend nutrition therapy, lifestyle shifts, and calming practices like yoga and breathwork so that women can stop guessing and start healing.
I offer personalized nutrition programs, menopause coaching, yoga events, and wellness retreats in Greenville, SC, and online. With 15+ years of experience, I combine deep clinical knowledge with grounded, holistic strategies and real-life empathy. I meet women where they are with tools that are sustainable and rooted in compassion.
I’m most proud that Vitalized Body is known as the calm in the storm — the space women turn to when they’re ready for real answers, not more restriction or advice that doesn’t fit their lives. I want women to know they are not broken — they just need the right support.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is when a woman looks up and says, “I finally feel like myself again.” Beyond symptom relief, it’s about helping her feel seen, supported, and confident in her body again. When a client tells me she finally has energy for the things she loves or no longer feels anxious every time she eats — that’s success.
It’s also about staying aligned with my purpose: offering compassionate, personalized care in a world filled with noise and one-size-fits-all advice. Ultimately, success means helping women move through this chapter of life with more calm, clarity, and trust in themselves — and knowing I played a part in that transformation.
