Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
During my childhood, I was captivated by the visual narratives showcased on channels like National Geographic, which sparked my interest in photography. Witnessing their ability to convey stories through imagery effectively profoundly impacted me, and I aspired to do the same. I distinctly remember my early attempts at capturing videos with my mother’s RCA camcorder, eager to document my day. I fell in love with photography and knew I wanted to expand my skills and dive deeper into this amazing art form. When the camcorder eventually quit, my parents gifted me my first camera, a $99 point-and-shoot Canon. It was one of those models that relied solely on AA batteries. I was changing batteries very, very often. With each click of the shutter, my love for photography grew stronger. As the years passed and I accumulated a collection of cameras and countless photographs, I realized that my passion had evolved into something more profound. In 2021, I took a significant step forward and established Blink Photography Co., where I am a proud business owner.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Throughout this journey, I’ve faced numerous challenges. I took it upon myself to construct my entire website and manage all the associated platforms independently. Let me tell you; it’s been quite a journey! Countless hours have been poured into website development, which can be frustrating and time-consuming, as many who have experienced it can attest. Recently, I even had to rebuild the entire website from scratch due to an unknown error in the initial version. Starting up my photography business has been riddled with obstacles and challenges every step of the way. Not only has website building been a rocky path, but promoting our services to potential clients has also presented difficulties. Starting from scratch has required significant time and effort to shape our business into what it is today. Convincing individuals to book our exceptional photography services and kickstart our venture has been a challenging walk in the park. Nonetheless, these challenges are all part of the gradual and steady growth process we embrace, and we know that growth will come steadily.

At our core, we specialize in a distinctive documentary style of photography with a fresh and captivating appeal. Our range of services encompasses everything from portraits, real estate, nature photography, and branding photography, to name a few. Our photos boast a unique style characterized by captivating colors and the ability to tell stories through imagery. Rather than staging scenes, we strive to capture real-life moments as they unfold, all while taking great pride in our post-production editing abilities. Our services cater to diverse niches, and our overarching business vision is to offer a wide range of photography services, particularly to rural communities. We take immense pride in our ability to capture meaningful moments and present them most authentically and engagingly possible.

What makes me happy about photography is the opportunity to take photos alongside my husband. Our collaborative approach allows us to bring our strengths and capture broader perspectives. Our approach involves using two distinct camera systems with different lenses, which allows us to capture a more varied range of shots. By bringing our unique perspectives and focusing on different focal length ranges, we can capture a diverse range of scenes and subjects.
