Meet Follow Milli

Today we’d like to introduce you to Follow Milli.  

Hi, Follow, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child, I was always a Tom Boy but had a love for fashion. The highlight of my evenings after high school was “Americas Next Top Model” and playing in makeup. I just knew I wanted to model. I dreamed of being on that show and my goal was one day to meet Tyra Banks. I was petite so I didn’t feel like it was achievable back then. After high school, I instantly joined the Army. I was medically discharged and started taking more interest into makeup. I began on social media going live doing my makeup and grew a small fan base. I was so thrilled! So, I took it a step further and started making “how-to tutorials”. In 2020, when the pandemic hit, I booked a photo shoot with Hughes Photography and I really enjoyed the experience. I felt I needed to be more creative with myself, but I didn’t know how to tap into it. I then became a beauty influencer and started working with Ssista to Ssista Virgin Hair Extensions and a few other great photographers. I modeled makeup, hair, clothes, and anything that I thought would fit my brand. In 2021, I volunteered for a car wash photoshoot and started blossoming from there. I finally felt like I was doing what I was called to do, MODEL. Now, to this day I have a great portfolio, resume, and plenty of opportunities ahead of me, and can’t wait for the next time I’m in front of a camera!! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t been easy, because I’m an independent model. I don’t have an agency backing me up, so mostly everything is done by me. I’m the creative director, sometimes photographer, makeup artist, stylist, and marketer. I’ve made a lot of progress with my career and I’ve learned a lot though, so I’m happy with my journey. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a freelance model who wants to help brands get their message out there. I don’t limit myself to one type of modeling, I want to do it all. You may see me rip the runway one weekend and advertise a plate of food next. I do videography now and it’s by far my favorite. I like the process from start to finish and it’s so much fun when I incorporate cosplay. It’s like every kid’s dream of playing dress-up. 

Any big plans?
My plan for the future is to be a well-known published content creator. I’m finishing my bachelor’s in Business Management and soon starting my own makeup company. I want people to see how passionate I am about my art. I want to collaborate with local and international content creators, models, creative directors, and artists to spread my vision.
