Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Percario.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I have always had a passion for photography dating back to high school. When I graduated college, I got my first DSLR camera as a present and took it everywhere I went! I mostly got travel shots as I traveled a lot right after college. My camera, unfortunately, got stolen when I moved to Charleston, so my passion took the back seat as I got my degree in teaching and started that career journey. This past Christmas, I decided to splurge and get myself a new camera and lens; it has been the best decision ever! I have already had such success taking photos for couples, brands, and individuals, and I cannot wait to see where this takes me in the future.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had never seen myself as an entrepreneur, and I was surprised at how easy it is to market yourself and work with others. I am thankful for social media and how it has gotten my name out there! I have made many learning curves and mistakes along the way, but I wouldn’t change a thing because I have learned from every single one of them and believe I will continue to learn for the rest of my creative career.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Charleston Photographer who specializes in couples and branding. I love working with small business owners and capturing their art. It amazes me how creative some people in my community can be. I also love working with couples and capturing their love for each other. I am learning how much more I love capturing candid moments rather than posed ones. I like to think that I specialize in capturing the little moments that portray a business or relationship in a way that not everyone can see with a glance.
Can you talk to us about the role of luck?
I feel fortunate to have had the start in this business that I have. Over my 5 years of living in Charleston, I have made many connections that have helped me land the opportunities I have gotten so far. That is what it is all about to me, connecting with people and showing the world how amazing they are.
