Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
After seven years in the event planning industry, my passion for weddings and events burns as brightly as it did on my first event day during Homecoming Week at the University of South Carolina in 2017. Following my graduation from the University of South Carolina in 2019, I embarked on my professional journey in the operations department at the Tryon International Equestrian Center. I organized volunteers and officials for significant events such as The Fork at Tryon International, Tryon Block House Steeplechase, Young Horse Show, Katydid CDE at Tryon, and Tryon International Three-Day Event. In 2020, I transitioned into the world of weddings when I joined Sempre Events, a local wedding and event planning company. I was hired as a day-of coordinator until I became Area Wedding Sales Manager for Marriott, overseeing wedding catering and sales for the AC Hotel and the Residence Inn/SpringHill Suites. During this time, I had the pleasure of collaborating with talented local vendors like Taylor Parker Photography, Mary Grace Carey with Bloom Bridal, and Laura Michelle Event Florals, further enriching my understanding of the wedding industry. In 2022, I returned to Sempre Events as their Principal Planner and Lead Coordinator, where I meticulously planned and executed weddings and events across the Carolinas. In this position, I planned and coordinated weddings and events for corporate companies such as Itema America in Spartanburg, SC. In 2023, I began a new chapter by founding my company, Verve Weddings and Events. With a foundation built on seven years of networking, coordination, and planning, Verve represents the culmination of my dedication to the industry. Since officially launching in September 2023, Verve has flourished, actively serving 24 clients and counting.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Reflecting on my journey, I’ve encountered numerous challenges, from vendor no-shows on the wedding day to navigating complex situations during the planning process. However, these experiences have only strengthened my resolve to deliver exceptional service and create unforgettable moments for my clients.

Throughout my journey, I’ve learned invaluable lessons that have shaped my approach to business and life. My journey in the events industry has been defined by passion, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
