Meet Bruce Sweeting of Brain Boy Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bruce Sweeting.

Hi Bruce, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Estill, S.C., with a solid connection to the most incredible power in the universe, known as the “Imagination Force.” This allows me to bring anything I write or sketch to life using whatever traditional or digital tools are available. Not only can I breathe life into my imaginative machinations, but I can also breathe life into the ideas of anyone who comes in contact with me. My connection to the “Imagination Force” grew when I attended Benedict College; as a graphic communication major; and unlocked several other abilities such as Ultra Focus, which creates a pocket dimension around me that allows me to concentrate intensely on a singular goal devoid of human distractions, Milestone Might; which enables me to slow down time to complete projects ahead of deadlines, and Cosmic Caliber; which ensures all of my creations are of high quality. I frequent community festivals and comic cons across the Southeast, selling my imaginative machinations as metal or canvas prints under the Brain Boy Creations banner. I am a certified K-12 visual art teacher and have taught art in public and charter schools for the past 6 years, inspiring creatives for the future of creativity. I honed my skills over the years, knowing I would one day be called upon to save the world from the villain Master Conformity and his army of Energy Reavers that seek to drain the planet of its creativity and control the Imagination Force.

Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to victory is rarely a straight path devoid of obstacles. Anything worth having is usually challenging to obtain but worth it in the end.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Attending local events in my community, conversing with other vendors when I vend at events, and joining online art communities have been very effective strategies for building my network.
