Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Culver.
Hi Brett, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started as an athlete who was always interested in the arts. I enjoyed the color and I was known for my colorful sock and shirt choices. I started the video by watching YouTube videos and really loved the “vlog life” wave that hit in 2016-17. I got my first camera for Christmas in 2018 I think and since then I’ve been creating content. I accidentally took some photos and realized that I was not too bad now after some hard work, 9 months of film school, and many hours of YouTube I’ve gained knowledge and found my true passion in photo and video.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not. I started really pursuing this career as a junior in high school and graduating in 2020 I lost most of my senior school year. This pushed me to work for my home church and help build the Livestream and social media standard they still use today at the beginning of Covid. I went on to work for another church during and just after my 9 months of film school in Nashville, Tn. I, unfortunately, lost my job there, my car broke down and I had to empty my savings to fix it, I started working at Walmart and struggled financially for about 3 months. I then sent a direct message to one of my favorite pro athletes and got in touch with his manager who then hired me based on that photo and some graphic design work I proved myself capable of doing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work for Pure Marketing Agency and Beacon Sports Management.
I am titled the social media marketing specialist, content coordinator, marketing coordinator, and creative coordinator at both companies I serve.
I specialize in creative design through graphic arts, photography, and videography/filmmaking. I also have developed a strong sense of storytelling and an urge to share people’s stories.
What sets me apart from others is my passion to work hard no matter what is in front of me and my drive to find new and innovative ways to create something that has never been done or at least do some unique to me.
My most proud moments change often as with every project I do I feel top the last. I seem to get better and better every day and I am just enjoying the process of life!
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
YouTube is by far the biggest for me. Following the likes of Jared Polin and Peter McKinnon, I’ve learned so much from just searching through the millions of videos.
The Adobe suite has been amazing with Lightroom, photoshop, premier, and after-effects.
And of course, on Instagram, I am able to share my content and see others’ content that’s fresh innovative, and fun!

- $700 base price for wedding photography
- $100-200 couples sessions
- $100-200 engagement sessions
- $50-$150 for senior portrait sessions!
