Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Hicks.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Well, Primo Noctis started with our vocalist Jason. He started back when he was 21. He started Primo after moving from band to band. He was originally the Bassist as well as the singer. After a while, he met our drummer LA. They then proceeded to play everywhere in Charleston, and it’s surrounding area. I went through multiple guitarists and bassists until landing on Craig Perry for guitars and myself on bass.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
I would personally describe it as a wild ride. The struggles have been everything from members leaving to venues closing down. The music scene ebbs and flows like the tides. We’ve become stronger and stronger from being a part of it. More recently, the struggles have been finding places to play in Charleston. It’s very different from the days of walking into a place and asking to play there. We hope to bring Charleston back to a more open-minded state regarding metal and heavy music.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a heavy metal band, first and foremost. We specialize in producing an original sound that is professional and inclusive. We are known for being one of the longest-lasting bands in Charleston, not only for our larger-than-life sound but also for our unwavering commitment to our fans and performances. As far as pride, we strive to be humble in our efforts. However, we are proud of our latest album, “Verses Ante Meridiem,” on all streaming platforms.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Patience. Above all else. More qualities that help are persistence, determination, accountability, confidence, and Consistency.
