Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Pizarro.

Adriana Pizarro

Hi Adriana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Adriana Pizarro; I was born in Medellin, Colombia, South America. My parents and our family moved to the United States in July 1993. I am the youngest of 3 siblings. I grew up in Boston, Mass, and had the opportunity to complete my education at a beautiful University called NESADSU ( The New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University, where I graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. During my years in the Boston area, I wore several hats; I worked as an executive admin assistant for many years, supporting executives and working with the state in the planning department, developing and renovating old and new spaces.

In 2015, my best friend Yina Owens challenged me to obtain my real estate license to be the bridge that would help her become a homeowner. Yina was in the Boston area for about 20 years, and I always felt this was a waste of money; Yina expressed she had bad experiences with previous real estate agents. Ht I could help her regain her trust and become a homeowner. In June 2015, I obtained my License, and within 30 days, I could successfully fulfill her dream of ownership.

The satisfaction from this experience lighted the spark of endless career possibilities. I practiced real estate part-time in Boston for that year. My parents were looking for a warmer state to relocate to, and they found Paradise Greenville, South Carolina. My parents moved in February 2015 to the Greenville area, rented an apartment in Pelham Rd for $635, and within 3 months, they purchased their retirement home. When I saw their purchase with my 7-year-old daughter, I fell in love with the upstate. In May of 2016, I was relocating to my new paradise. By August of 2016, I was a homeowner. I began working for the same broker who assisted my parents with their purchase, and over the years, I practiced real estate and noticed I had two blessings: Assisting first-time home buyers and relocating from all over the states.

In 2019, I was invited to a Starbucks coffee meeting where I met an outstanding entrepreneur, Michael Smith, who at the time was an agent from another brokerage; he was intelligent, polished, and driven. He asked if I would like to join his team of agents; at the time, I said no. Year after year, Michael would call me and follow up. ” Adriana, are you ready to join me? “I answered, ” I am happy where I am. In year number 3, Michael stated that he was opening his firm, Bluefield Realty Group. At this time, I accepted his offer and began working for this fantastic place from August 2019 to the present time.

What Michael saw in me was an agent who loves to service people with integrity and passion; his company’s core values matched my own. I have been a bilingual, bi-cultural agent servicing the upstate for the past 8 years. Michael’s vision inspired me to practice real estate at a higher level and create my own team of professionals. Pizarro’s Properties, powered by Bluefield, was created in 2022 to respond to a need for more real estate professionals servicing the upstate. The power of leading others to serve better is my spark and motivation. Our goal in the following years is to build a team of professionals who can bring their own experiences and ideas, keeping our core values of integrity and excellence. The best part of my day is when we look at the smiles of families who felt they could never be homeowners, and they burst into tears of joy receiving their Keys at the closing table. Knowing that what we do daily for these families creates a socioeconomic change is priceless.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In life, there are no shortcuts. There have been lots of obstacles.

  1. Being a minority
  2. Being a single mother
  3. Having other means of support while building your business
