Life & Work with Tam The Viibe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tam the Viibe.

Hi Tam, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been writing poetry and raps since a child. I’m a product of the 90s so I’m heavily influenced by the legends of the game such as Jay-Z, Missy Elliot, Mary J Blige, and Diddy. I’ve been serious about my role in music since about 2015. I’ve since released 3 albums and 2 EPs; my latest EP is With Love. Lately, I’ve been creating and performing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think the biggest struggle for me is getting over any self-defeating mentalities that I harbored. I’ve learned that my biggest enemy/obstacle is myself. I’m learning to be structured but also not to take myself so seriously. But just getting over that mental block that you place there yourself is probably one of the hardest struggles.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known as the “Hook Queen” and I proudly wear the title.

Any big plans?
I plan to start throwing more events for other artists under my partnership in Black Nerd Mafia. I have a podcast show developing with my brother, Jabari of Gas bros. I’m currently working on two new projects, hopefully, one of them will be released by the end of the year.
