Life & Work with Christopher Baker of Simpsonville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Baker.

Christopher Baker

Hi Christopher, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.

With our last name being ‘Baker, ‘food has always been in the bloodline. Chris has been honing his skills for the past 24 years in his culinary career. Always interested in food & the science behind it, he wanted to try something new.

Having two wonderful but extremely picky children, they seemed to gravitate towards freeze-dried fruits and vegetables. After discussing this as a family, we decided this would be a fun venture. The name ‘Arctic’ comes from our machines freezing temperature. We started producing a few of our favorites back in January of ’23. Once we secured our equipment, this dryer has not stopped. We are always innovating and constantly learning new things. Now we offer over 20 different products and love watching this business grow! Our knowledge and passion for quality will certcertainly set us apart.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Like all roads, there are a few obstacles and bumps. At first, it’s a lot of trial and error.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
Cara is a sweets enthusiast, same can be said about our daughter. Chris, Chef by trade, loves showing his son the mechanics of it all. We feel it is very important to teach our children the fundementals of running a business.

What’s next?

We plan to offer out-of-state shipping come mid 2024.
