Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Tucker.
Hi Carrie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a nurse practitioner and started an e-commerce site during Covid to help out where I could. I heard about the increasing numbers of foster teens and the statistics of their risk of homelessness and wanted to jump in and do what I could. My mom and I started designing and manufacturing cosmetic bags that we could then use funds to give back to foster youth in North and South Carolina. We provide them with personalized toiletry bags in collaboration with Least Of These Carolinas for every bag sold. The hope was that the foster youth could use when traveling from home to home or if they faced a hardship and were homeless, they would at least have something that they can use for hygiene. This is just a starting point. We hope to one day be able to empower this group of amazing youth and provide them with jobs once we continue to grow our business. We also support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Cinnie Scronce.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have had amazing support through the online community. We really think the road has been smooth because this is so much bigger than us. It is not about us.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We like to think that everyone is in need of a toiletry or cosmetic bag and while there are lots of options, knowing that when you buy a bag that someone in need gets another bag really sets the tone of the world we all hope to be a part of.
