Life & Work with Brittany (BrizzNicole) Thomason of Greenville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany (BrizzNicole) Thomason.

Hi Brittany (BrizzNicole), thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Creativity has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. I have a vivid imagination which has allowed me to develop a healthy outlet for expression. As a child, I loved making people laugh, so I would entertain my family by writing skits, putting on plays, and creating films. Their reactions filled me with a unique kind of joy. As I got older, my focus shifted towards more “realistic” goals, so I decided to pursue my dream career by obtaining my PharmD degree while my true passion remained in entertainment. It wasn’t until I reached my lowest point that a rebirth reignited my childhood passions and allowed me to combine my adult career with those passions to create something extraordinary. That process birthed the creation of “Brizz Presents The Pharmacy.” I will be obtaining my PharmD degree in May of 2023. The responses I’ve received from my content thus far have been amazing, so I’m excited to see what else God has in store for me and my career journey.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a challenging road. I’ve had to work on my mental health for most of my adulthood. Like many other individuals, I encountered my breaking point in 2020. But within that breaking point, I could rediscover God in a new way. That awakening sparked many new opportunities for me to grow. All this occurred while I was in pharmacy school, and it was a challenge. So many times, I wanted to give up, but I discovered how to embrace the chaos one moment at a time. In doing so, I could stay grounded, which allowed me to balance myself. Within the balance, I realized the process is supposed to be a struggle to become stronger and uplift others.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the creator of “Brizz Presents The Pharmacy” (@itsalwayspharm) on TikTok and Instagram. I developed the content out of a local studio called The Gym Complex. The page presents pharmacy-related discussions involving education while incorporating a comedic dialogue between different characters. This page has allowed me to branch out as a Social Media Influencer, Brand Ambassador, and Creative Consultant. Honestly, I’m most proud of my resilience. I didn’t quit, regardless of any bad outcomes or adversities that persisted along the way. Now, I look back and am amazed by how far I have come. I am proud of my journey overall. I don’t know what sets me apart, but I do know what has made me successful, and that is being submitted to the process. I wouldn’t say that sets me apart from others because I have met many other individuals who have been equally submitted along the way. You have to find your tribe.

What do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck, not how most people traditionally believe. Some may say that random things happen to you because you are in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the wrong time. I believe in divine timing, whether it’s good or bad. The good things that seemed like random acts in my life were confirmations and reinforcements. Confirmation that I am still walking in alignment, reinforcing my faith. But your past battles are also evidence. The bad things in my life that seemed like random acts actually served as divine moments that developed me to receive the things I asked for. You may have to endure great pain if you ask for great things. Accepting that reality makes all the difference.
