Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna & Vladimir Butov. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Our names are Vladimir & Brianna Butov. We are competitive dancers and we love to teach and spread the joy of dancing. Unlike the average dancer’s background, we started ballroom dancing after high school.
We met each other a couple of years ago at a competition and then after some time got married! At the time we were living in Sacramento and were running a dance studio called VOS Dance Studio.
We taught kids, teens, and adults – of all ages and levels. In fact, most of our students competed as well. But we did have our group of social dancers who just wanted to know the skills of dancing for going out.
We specifically dance International Latin Ballroom. That includes Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, and Paso Doble. Not only do we focus on competitive dancing but we do enjoy dancing Salsa and Bachata.
The ballroom also includes Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Swing… and much more.
Vladimir has run his dance studio since 2012 at the young age of 23, building one of the best dance communities in Sacramento by himself. Not only is he a well-known dancer and teacher but he is a very highly skilled professional drummer as well. His ability to understand musicality and rhythm in drumming gave him a very dynamic quality of dancing.
Brianna and her mother-in-law, Oksana have been making DanceSport dresses for students and dancers all over the US. They work together to design, sew and create beautiful costumes for competitive dancers.
This includes the best quality fabrics from the UK and rhinestones that will make you sparkle on the floor as you’ve always dreamed. They are all about making your Ballroom or Latin dress come to life as you dance on the competition floor. In fact, Oksana even made Brianna’s wedding dress!
We are now here in Greenville South Carolina and absolutely love the south. It really feels like home for both of us and we are honored to be a part of such a wonderful city. We are eager to bring the joy of ballroom dance to Greenville!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As most dancers know, dance is an investment. Not only into the lessons but the investment is into yourself as well. It requires discipline, practice, and patience.
No one is “born” a dancer. Otherwise, we would all be dancing if it was so easy, right? It takes just jumping in and doing it with the right mindset.
There is no hiding that it was and still is a financial investment for us. That’s why it’s very important to practice what you’ve learned in a lesson so that you retain that valuable information.
Vlad trained in New York, Bay Area, and Brianna in Seattle and Portland. Together after getting married, they were able to do some additional training in the Bay Area and continue to do so after moving.
We invest financially into flights, gas to travel to lessons, fees to compete, and lessons with our coaches. When you take lessons with us you will know you are learning everything we have invested in for years.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are what you call, “Jack of all trades”. Brianna and Vladimir have found ways to take what they love and turn it into a profession.
As mentioned before, Vlad is a drummer and teaches lessons as well. He is sponsored by Barton Drums and works with this very high-quality Drum Company. Vlad started playing drums at the age of 10. He would play at church, practice for many hours, and also study music in college.
Today he is a very good drum teacher and teaches his drum lessons here in Greenville and is taking new students! He also plays for worship at New Spring Church in Anderson as well as a local band.

Brianna started and continues her career as a licensed Esthetician performing facials and skincare treatments. She’s been an esthetician for 10 years now, bringing the best quality services to her clients. And now she owns her business Divine Garden Aesthetics in Greenville.
And as mentioned before she also makes ballroom dresses with her mothers in law.
