Today we’d like to introduce you to Antavius Brown.
Hi Antavius, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started doing music at the age of 16. Music became my escape from life situations. In 2008 I was hit by the loss of my brother Kristan Perry so I would perform in competitions to show, and I had a chance to be on the Jameoom. I’m a part of BamFamEnt with CEO Guttawitdasack. I was incarcerated from 2013-2020. In July 2021, I did a feature with Mr. 14 and Lil Spida III; from Aug 2021 to the present, I’ve been recording with Bubbaputphonkonit from Luxury Studios. I was blessed to do my first show in Atlanta by a Terrance TSeed in January of 2022, and Hylo Art gave me my first interview on 600Seconds of Hylo in March 2022. In July DjSurplus, aka Billy Swanson Surplus, gave me a free week of internet web spins from a review on The Hard Slam review. I was blessed to be featured on The HardSlam Review, Da Co-sign Podcast, and Jerry Favors.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My struggles have been losing friends and family, learning to manage money, and lacking support.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an entertainer. I rap, sing, and harmonize. My Crunk style, energy, and rough and rugged voice set me apart. I’m most proud of being recognized as an artist featured on podcasts and blessed to be nominated in the first TheChosenOneTv Vma for inspirational video of the year.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Money and Image take you a long way, but it’s who you know, not what you know.
