it Values Exploring Life & Business with LeeAnn Rawson of Narcinon

Today we’d like to introduce you to LeeAnn Rawson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Everyone has been touched by a narcissist at some point in life or will be. The key is, will you have the tools to recognize them or not? It could be that a person was raised by a narcissist, or married a narcissist, or even worked for one. During life coaching school, we were assigned a project to develop something original that we knew about that could help people. Because I had recently had a relationship with a narcissist, it occurred to me that like Al-Anon, which provides support for people involved with alcoholics, there should be something to support people who are involved with a narcissist. I developed the word Narcinon and trademarked it. Since then, I’ve become a Certified Professional Life Coach, an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and a Certified International Health Coach.

It took me a while to develop how Narcinon would roll out, but I knew it would have something to do with building community- because when people come together, help each other and heal together everyone benefits. Out of this endeavor, I also coined the term NarcTank, which references the world of predatory people and behavior- for people who are already swimming in the NarcTank, we throw them a life preserver. We also don’t want people to fall into the NarcTank and learn to recognize it and create healthy boundaries to avoid people out there who are like this. I thought some people might at first find this to be a dark subject. But on the contrary, instead, awareness has shined some much-needed sunlight on the issue.

Today as the founder of Narcinon LLC, I’m dedicated to educating victims of narcissistic abuse and empowering survivors. In addition, one of the most important components of recovery is mind/body health because of how narcissistic abuse affects your overall well-being. So for that reason, I also include health coaching as part of the process. My motto is, “I can’t help you with your physical health if you’re struggling to survive in your relationship.” So, Narcinon helps survivors see that they can rise above the other person causing the problem and that they can move on. I often say, healthy is the new sexy!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business is never a smooth ride. Struggles are the conceptualization and how you can help people. Website development, marketing and awareness, and creating content is all a challenging part but if you build it, they will come. We went from a few followers to more than 30,000. With the roll-out of Instagram and Mighty Networks, it’s full steam ahead.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What sets Narcinon apart from other self-help resources is that it is not about me. It’s about you. It focuses on the survivors, not the narcissist. I wanted it to be about the people and connecting them to one another so that they can help each other. You could be in Mt. Pleasant and connect with someone in Egypt who is going through the same thing.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
When it comes to risk, in regard to Narcinon, what risks haven’t I taken? My background before was in the financial sector of business development. To launch an unknown brand is always risky- to launch one with the sole purpose of helping others, that may or may not ever bear fiscal success is like diving off a cliff-level risk!

Stepping out, standing behind something you believe in, putting all the time and effort into it for years without a reward is a huge risk also, but where there is passion, there is a success.
