Perhaps the quote should read, “Women who color within the lines, rarely make history.” If the old adage actually read that way, it would make sense that Leslie Patrice O’Neal was never one for staying inside of the lines or turning down new endeavors. With a heart for impacting the lives of others, the fierce trailblazer has already lit a path that she prays will continue to make transformational moments—not for history, but for HERstory.
As a kindergartner, Leslie struggled in areas where her young-learner peers excelled. Candidly, she will tell you that she hated preschool art- particularly, coloring. Ironically, today and for the past decade, she has spent her life figuratively painting for others. After constantly finding herself as the go-to person for planning, hosting and aesthetic social media composing for family and friends, Leslie took a leap of faith and finally decided to give life to her hobby. As a travel nurse, she launched her brain baby, LesPRESS Productions in 2020, during a time when our nation and world was shaken up with unforeseen misfortunes. The social media advertising and marketing business specializes in helping individuals brighten their media outlets, events and concepts. While Leslie uses her passion for vision consulting for businesses and individuals, her first love- healthcare, is where she has dedicated most of her time.
After high school, Leslie received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Her love for being an RN, has allowed her to spread healing and care once again outside of the lines—state lines, that is. As a Travel Nurse, she’s acquired a new appreciation for diverse populations, addressing disparities in healthcare and meeting new people.
LesPRESS Productions is an extension of Leslie’s talents, and has grown exponentially since its premiere. With a focus on defining the client’s vision, Leslie has perfected her craft for broadening social media accounts and expanding the brand visibility of businesses. With a knack for taking small ideas to the next level, Leslie has dedicated herself to always bringing a transformational client-centered experience.
It is important to mention that while living to step out of the traditionalisms set by society and color outside of the lines, Leslie has a decorated badge of credentials. As an avid volunteer, she credits her father for planting the seeds of philanthropy, hard work and compassion for others as he was an entrepreneur owning and operating Metro Auto Insurance Agency in Augusta and Columbia, SC. Leslie also is the business owner and partner of LUX21 Luxury Golf Cart Rental Service which was established in May of 2021, and CMO of Fatherhood is Dope, which is run and operated by her partner in business and in life, Cj Adamson. LesPRESS is happy to have celebrated her successful 2-year anniversary on Dec. 7th, 2022 and has been awarded Black Business of the Week and will was featured in the business article for SC Black Activist Coalition newspaper The Black Gazette.
The great Aristotle once said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.” For Leslie, the late philosopher’s words have become a mantra for her. She prioritizes having a strong stride in faith, an unwavering charitable spirit and a relentless desire to be better. By doing so, she knows that her path is already promised and that her future is one full of abundant gifts and boundless experiences already drawn with the grace of God.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been smooth. Growth is sometimes uncomfortable, and starting something I’ve never done before was scary. It had me doubting myself, my potential, and if I really could be a successful part-time entrepreneur and full-time nurse. Balancing life and work wasn’t easy as well, but what helped balanced the gap was when I sought help from my entrepreneur friends and mentors.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was/am a go-getter, fun, and always loved to laugh…..my mom always said, “I don’t let the grass grow under my feet” That I was a natural-born leader that wasn’t afraid to take that leap or jump, and never knew how to sit down. Always on the go, traveling, and never staying still.. Hobbies consist of taking trips/vacations, shopping, decorating/hosting, and spending time with family and friends. I disliked preschool art- particularly, coloring, cutting, and etc. Never could master the craft or feel talented in that area. Ironically, today and for the past decade, I’ve spent my life figuratively painting for others whether it’s through healthcare or my business.
