Inspiring Conversations with Latasha Brooks of Coach Brooks Business Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latasha Brooks.

Latasha Brooks

Hi Latasha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
So, it all began with a simple desire—to help folks in business. I didn’t start with a co-working space; that came later. First, it was diving into government contracting, figuring out the ins and outs, and helping minority businesses score ample opportunities. I kicked off Coach Brooks Business Consulting, helping businesses thrive. Then, A & B Creative Events took shape to add a creative flair. The co-working space in Fredericksburg? That was the icing, making collaboration and innovation a local reality. Along the way, I’ve racked up some awards, like the iconic Woman Award in Virginia. I’m no stranger to publications, speaking gigs, or pushing for diversity in business. My journey is straightforward—starting with a passion for helping, diving into different ventures, and ending up here, sharing my story with you.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? Not even close! The entrepreneurial journey is more like a rollercoaster. I faced challenges, learned tough lessons, and navigated through uncertainties. One hurdle was breaking into the government contracting scene. Understanding regulations and dealing with red tape—it’s no walk in the park. Yet, I persevered, helping businesses secure contracts. Then came the co-working space dream. The road has been paved with determination, sleepless nights, and doubters. Yet, overcoming each challenge shaped my journey. It’s a journey of resilience, adaptability, and a sprinkle of audacity—far from smooth, but every twist and turn adds character.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Coach Brooks Business Consulting and A & B Creative Events, we empower businesses with a focus on strategic planning and turbocharging growth with government contracting expertise. What sets us apart? It’s the Minority GovCon Business Summit, bridging gaps for minority businesses. Our co-working space, A & B Creative Events Center, is a pioneer in Fredericksburg, VA. It’s not just about shared offices; it’s a community hub for collaboration and innovation. We take pride in fostering diversity, advocating for inclusivity, and breaking barriers in government contracting. We’re known for results—securing contracts, empowering minority businesses, and creating spaces that redefine work environments. The blend of innovation, resilience, and a dash of audacity defines our brand. Our journey isn’t just about business; it’s about elevating others.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I want to share some advice: embrace the audacity to dream big. In my journey, I’ve learned that success often lies beyond my comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to take risks, challenge the status quo, and pursue your passions relentlessly. Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur or a seasoned business owner, remember that setbacks are just setups for comebacks. Stay resilient, stay focused, and surround yourself with a supportive community. The road to success may have twists and turns, but each challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger. And most importantly, remember to celebrate your victories, no matter how small. Each step forward is a triumph worth acknowledging. Here’s to audacious dreams, unwavering determination, and a future filled with success and fulfillment!
