Inspiring Conversations with Chloe Parris of 864 Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Parris.

Chloe Parris

Hi Chloe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Shelby, North Carolina just over the state line. Growing up both of my parents worked in healthcare – my dad was a nurse practitioner, and my mom was a nurse and I felt like healthcare was all I knew. After being surrounded by it my entire life, I knew I wanted to do something in healthcare and help people but I had no idea what. I ended up going to Clemson University for my undergrad and majored in biology because I knew I could always do something in healthcare with that degree. During college I thought I wanted to go to PA school so I started to work as a CNA to get contact hours in preparation for PA school.

After graduating I was still working as a CNA and enrolled in an accelerated BSN program to start the following year. In the mean time, I found a job working as a chiropractic assistant at a local office to have a job before I started school again. When I started to work at the chiropractic office, I don’t think I even knew what chiropractic was but I knew the people who worked there got to be hands on with patients and that’s what I wanted to do. While working there, the doctor who owned the practice pulled me aside one day and told me I did not need to go to nursing but instead chiropractic school. I knew deep down I truly did not want to go to nursing school so I took a leap of faith and went and toured the chiropractic school that was about 45 minutes away from us. After touring the school I knew that this was what I was supposed to do so I backed out of nursing school and enrolled in chiropractic school to start 3 weeks later.

At this point, I knew the basics of chiropractic and that it could help people in pain but I had no idea the reaching effects chiropractic had on people’s lives. I like to say I was one of the few people who truly discovered chiropractic while in chiropractic school. It was so different from any thought of health I had ever heard or held before and with it came a lot of re-training of how I had been taught to think about our health. Truly a shift from sick care to health care. I discovered a way to allow people’s bodies to function at their highest levels with the intervention of drugs or surgery – a body working in true harmony. A lot of the shift came from when I got under consistent chiropractic care and noticed huge changes in myself with not just back pain but my overall mental health, menstrual cycles, anxiety, and so much more.

After graduating from chiropractic school I knew I wanted to share how chiropractic changes lives through opening my own practice. I had a vision of making chiropractic care accessible to all so that they are able to integrate it into their lives as a tool to function to the best of their ability rather than use it as a band-aid here and there to help with their symptoms.

So I graduated from chiropractic school in June of 2023 and opened my chiropractic practice the following month and haven’t looked back since. 864 Chiropractic has grown into an amazing community where people show up for themselves and strive to be the best version of themselves with consistent chiropractic care as a cornerstone for that.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been struggles along the way. I don’t think that any business owner truly understands the work and effort it takes until you jump in head first. I would say that while the road has been difficult, I wouldn’t have it any other way because nothing worth having ever comes easy.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 864 Chiropractic?
864 Chiropractic is a membership-style chiropractic office allowing individuals and/or families to get affordable, accessible, and consistent chiropractic care. I love taking care of full families because when the entire family has their spine checked for subluxation, everyone functions to the best of their ability. I love seeing kids and pregnant women – I am certified in the Webster Technique, which is a technique tailored specifically towards pregnant women, as well as a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). What I think sets our office apart is we take the time to listen to each of our practice members. We sit down with them to discuss their goals and how we are going to get them to function at their best level in all aspects of their life. Everyone who walks through our doors is seen, heard, and thought of as an individual rather than a number.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see my industry continuing to grow and boom in the next 5-10 years. There has been a huge shift in healthcare in the past few years, and people want real answers to the root cause of their issues rather than being given tons of medications to cover up symptoms. I also think that people are starting to focus on being more proactive rather than reactive in terms of taking care of themselves and wanting to live a full and healthy life rather than being stuck on a hamster wheel of stress and neglecting their health. I look forward to continuing to watch this shift happen and helping more people along their health and wellness journey.
