Inspiring Conversations with BreAnna Tuggle of Brie’s Boards

Today we’d like to introduce you to BreAnna Tuggle.

Hi BreAnna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started this business journey amidst the pandemic, looking for something to express myself in a creative and fun way. I started Brie’s Boards in January of 2021 and have been going non-stop since. I was working my corporate job from home and quickly became unsatisfied with how mundane my day-to-day activities were becoming. It’s like I never left my corporate job and just kept working, instead of enjoying life. With starting the business, I never viewed it as work, but more of a learning and growing experience.

Food is a way to connect with others, on a very personal and artistic level. While some people like to cook and others like to enjoy tasting, I enjoy artfully pairing and designing delicious foods that folks may not necessarily try if it wasn’t crafted for them. Community and connections amongst food is like no other. There’s something so special when you can find common ground over food.

My hope is everyone is able to find something they love in each purchase from Brie’s Boards and are able to then incorporate that into their life to bring others together.

Today, I have my very own commercial kitchen inside an urban winery in the heart of Downtown Fort Mill, South Carolina!

I met the owners of Illumination Wines via a mutual friend and we connected instantly and starting building our business plans to open up their urban winery featuring Brie’s Boards as the exclusive food offerings by Spring of 2022!

While I am fully operational in my commercial kitchen, we are in the midst of planning our grand opening.

Big things to come!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say it has gone exactly as expected. Meaning, there were some learning curves on the way. However, it’s all about how you perceive those learning curves. They can either be perceived as opportunities to grow or obstacles. As a person who doesn’t take no for an answer, I viewed every learning curve as an opportunity to learn and search for ways to either become better or avenues to make things happen!

We’ve been impressed with Brie’s Boards LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Brie’s Boards LLC is a charcuterie designs company and is 100% female-owned.

We specialize in custom charcuterie boards and grazing tables. We make our own butcher block boards, style our own grazing creations, and even make some cheeses in-house.

I feel like what sets us apart from others is we do a lot of work in-house but in addition, we love to collaborate and support other small businesses.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the industry I am in is definitely popular at this time, however, the ‘want’ to graze will never go away. I think the way we define grazing will change over the 5-10 years. While it’s hard to forecast what that is, I do know that listening to customer wants is the way to continued success as long as Brie’s Boards is willing to be flexible and understand what consumers want as time goes on, we will be in good shape.
