Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Moreno.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Born originally in Sacramento, California, my love for the beauty industry started when I was just a small girl. I would watch my aunt put on her makeup and always wanted to look just like her. I was only allowed to wear makeup starting on my 13th birthday, and from then on, my passion never dwindled. I quickly fell in love with skincare when I began esthetics school in 2017. I worked in local salons & spas until opening my suite in March of 2023! I offer facials, makeup, waxing, brow laminations, lash lifts & tints, and more! I’m excited to see where this journey will take DermaDoll Esthetics!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing up, my parents moved my two sisters and my coast to coast, with states between California and South Carolina. We found it difficult to find a place where we felt “at home.” It was challenging to build lasting connections since we were always on the move. Not to mention, once we did settle in Charleston, my parents didn’t have much financial flexibility to support my schooling & career. I found myself working two jobs and attending esthetics school at 18 to get by to pay my student loan and rent. I find it rewarding to embrace the Charleston community and network with other young entrepreneurs. All in hopes that one day it would pay off.

DermaDoll Esthetics is a private local esthetics practice in Charleston, South Carolina, offering services from facials, makeup, waxing, and brow & lash services. We strive to help reveal your inner & outer beauty while reaching peak relaxation. No matter where you are in your skincare journey, we all deserve to feel like the dolls that we are! We welcome all skin types, races, and genders.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me stems from the satisfaction of our clients. We want to leave a lasting impact on the well-being of every person who walks through the door. As well as making everyone feel comfortable and confident in their skin. Self-care is a key factor that influences who we are as people. How you care for yourself directly reflects how you care for others. Success is helping people coincide with this concept and nourish that practice.
