Inspiring Conversations with Ari Demboski

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ari Demboski.

Hi Ari, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Nature has always been fascinating to me whether it was the Appalachian mountains or tiny ants heading home – I was mesmerized. Reflecting back, I can remember being in the 2nd grade with my friends and talking to our teacher about the trees being taken down for a new playground. Even as a child, I found conservation important I just didn’t know it yet. This immense appreciation for Earth followed me along as a young adult. In high school, I’d bring my recyclables to a teacher who brought their recycling home so I knew it would end up in the right place. I’ve been on this path for approximately two and a half decades and even continued on to major in Sustainability Science at MSU.

My guilty pleasure of event planning has also been with me for a while, I loved gathering people for special events and found myself in many event planning roles for my extracurriculars. In college, I was able to join the event planning committee for my sorority and hold an annual fundraiser that would raise over $30,000 for our philanthropies.

These two worlds – two passions – finally crossed when it was time to plan my wedding to my high school sweetheart. Cliff and I met in eighth-grade history class in a small town in New Jersey. This wedding was a decade in the making and yet we only had seventy days to make it happen because he was going to be deployed. Somehow, I was able to whip up a sustainably focused magical wedding with a lower carbon footprint!

After deployment, we packed our stuff and moved to Charleston, South Carolina! This is where it became evident that event planning was my niche and with my background in sustainability I realized I could find ways for couples to save money AND the planet. Ultimately, I want our couples to feel like we did on their wedding day: Magical.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The sustainability science program at Montclair State University is one of the University’s most prestigious majors. The support and opportunity in the institution are unmatched and I credit all of my success to the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies. Obviously, there were many nights spent studying and a few tears because of my course load but it was all worth it.

During this time, my body’s check engine light started flickering. I had previously suffered a back fracture from field hockey, so when I started feeling immense pain I chalked it up to just a sore spot. I ended up in the hospital for a week because of my kidneys. Fast forward a few years and many many doctors, and I am finally starting to get answers. Being chronically ill for the past few years has been quite the rollercoaster, but I find myself being thankful for my life every single day. My newest diagnosis is endometriosis which has cleared up so many questions. I am so thankful that so many women talk openly about their experience with reproductive health and think that we need to keep having these conversations!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Elevati means elevated in Italian and that’s what we want to do – elevate your experience. Elevati specializes in sustainably driven event planning and set design. Luxury and sustainability can go hand and hand and we’re here to bring those words together!

All of our packages include a personalized wedding day timeline, checklist, and an aesthetic refinery guide to help you bring your vision to life. We also provide a calendar of events detailing payment schedules. contract deadlines, etc. We can add on day-of coordination or just be the day-of coordinator with no aesthetic planning. We also offer packages for other businesses and creators.

Elevati really emphasizes that elevation of experience. We’re going to be here 24/7, late night questions and concerns are expected with something as important as your special day. Bringing dreams to life is our mission and we want nothing more than for your big day to be absolutely perfect.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having a big heart is a blessing and a curse. In this industry, I find my empathy to really drive my perfectionism and elevate my work ethic to another level. Couples who are planning a wedding are planning one of the biggest days of their lives and I prioritize that so hard. I definitely do not want to ruin someone else’s big day because of a silly mistake! I also understand and see the stress that wedding planning does and want to relieve clients of that. I want to comfort and treat my clients like they are my best friend up there getting married!
