Inspiring Conversations with Adriana Richardson of The Lazy Millennial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Richardson.

Hi Adriana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my business back in February 2018 as a Virtual Assistant. I had no idea what I wanted to do or how to get there, but I knew I wanted to help bring some extra money to the household. A month later, I found out I was pregnant, so that really help light the flame. I was lucky to have clients after only a couple of weeks of “opening”.

However, that’s when the challenges began. I just knew I needed money, so I was accepting almost anything thrown my way. I was undercharging. I had no boundaries. I was stressed out. I had to hire help in my business for maternity leave. I had no concept of business systems or SOPs at that time, so that didn’t go well either.

Fast forward a bit to 2020. I was starting to get a little better with running a business, but I still wasn’t “there”. I had boundaries in place but still struggled to stick with them. Then Covid hit. My business picked up, but I couldn’t keep the momentum, even with a team. I ended up closing down a bit to revamp and start documenting my business.

Once I re-opened. Things started flowing more smoothly. I helped my clients with documenting as well. I realized, I had outgrown my role as a VA and wanted to do Online Business Management.

Now, here it is 2021 and I’m known as an OBM, but not only that, I’ve become a go-to for SOPs and business systems. In April, I decided a title change wasn’t enough and I changed my whole business structure and name. I’m now known as The Lazy Millennial and I continue to build.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish! Lack of boundaries, not pricing correctly, no clear systems/SOPs were some struggles I faced.

We’ve been impressed with The Lazy Millennial, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Lazy Millennial is my Online Business Management and Consulting Company. Our main service is the SOP Done with you service where we provide Business consulting/coaching, assistance with creating SOPs, etc.

Not many Service providers do what I do because I focus on the Business as a who, and not just the Onboarding/Offboarding section. I teach business owners to think about their business as a living person and what they need to do to fill the holes.

I’m most proud for building my company up in a short amount of time to focus on this important section and that people take my advice and have seen changes. I want the readers to know when they hear, The Lazy Millennial, I’m one of the go-to companies to work on their Business system and Standard Operating Procedures.. for today’s time.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always looking for other Service Providers to refer and/or do joint packages with for clients. They can fill out the contact form on my website or just send an email to hello@thelazymillennial.net.
