Hi Taylor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Taylor Moultrie, and I am from Charleston, SC. I attended Winthrop University, obtaining my Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare management. I am currently at UNC Charlotte, obtaining my Master’s in business administration. I am also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Charlotte’s Rho Psi Omega chapter. I am the CEO + Founder of Moultrie Wine Company and Bar. Moultrie Wine Co. is a wine retailer that specializes in customizable wine boxes and chocolate-covered strawberries. We look forward to servicing the NC + SC areas and spreading the love for Wine! Thank you to everyone for all of your support. This is only the beginning, and we appreciate the love at the start of this small black-owned business.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a challenging road. I quit my job in healthcare in October of 2022 to start this business and pursue going to school at UNCC full-time. Since then, it has taken a lot of time and dedication to launch and continue the momentum to continuously post and market on social media.
We’re big fans of Moultrie Wine Co. & Bar. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
Wine has always been an interest from watching my mom and her friends drink wine, and then my mom talking about it with me in high school made me interested and intrigued about the wine culture. My business was created in October, although my passion for wine and chocolate-covered strawberries have always been there. Since working downtown Kilwins and making the chocolate-covered strawberries for them during valentines day and other events, it sparked an interest and passion for covering fruit in chocolate. Moultrie Wine Co. & Bar specializes in Wine Boxes and chocolate-covered strawberries; we are mainly known for our wine boxes. What sets us apart from others is the connection we try to make with our customers and the uniqueness of our strawberry decorations. I am most proud of my company brand-wise, the wine boxes and other boxes we plan to launch in the summer of 2023.

Family matters to me the most, not just my biological family but friends that turn into family. Going off to college developed many of those friend-to-family relationships, and I am so grateful for them.
