Hidden Gems: Meet Tanya Hearn of Charcuterie Happy Board

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Hearn.

Hi Tanya, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started this new venture back in February 2021 for my birthday. I love Charcuterie boards and decided I would make one for myself and it turned out great. It was perfect timing because it was Valentine’s weekend and that was the theme. I utilize Pinterest for my inspiration and then a few weeks later I took a virtual class and learn some of the basic of building a charcuterie board. I also took three local in-person classes for fun. I didn’t think this would become a business for me. I started posting some of my work on social media and my family and friends starting pushing since as I was getting away from my photography business for personal reasons. I started my research and came across Board By Mo Beginner Workshop: How to Start a Charcuterie Board Business. It took me four months to make my decision. I would say it was a great decision.

I launched my Charcuterie business on Instagram the beginning of November and I was pretty nervous about it. Upon launching my goals was to take on Holiday orders and it happen in a matter of two weeks and I was sold out of Charcuterie platters. I was really amazing, excited, and was delivering on Thanksgiving Day. I have found true passion with it especially for the holidays and it allows me to get very creative.

I have currently starting working on my goals for next year and planning my vision board and one of those goals are to host my very own workshop on how to build your personal charcuterie board. How exciting right??? I learned from someone and I would love to pass on the knowledge.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were some challenges along the way because it’s dealing with food. I didn’t know what licenses were required. I reach out to a small business organization to lead me in the right direction and I’m still working behind the scenes of the business.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I curate charcuterie boards, platters, cones, and boxes for your next meeting, luncheons, and special event or the work office.

What matters most to you?
Keeping my clients happy with a beautiful note. I will always ask them if this is a special occasion so I can get even more creative with styling their Charcuterie platter.
