Today we’d like to introduce you to Shann Watson.
Hi Shann, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work lifework life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Before Prissaholic, I was the leading phlebotomist at my local community hospital. I then enrolled in to nursing school and became a cardiac device representative for my local Cardiology Center. As much as I loved the job, I started to have issues with childcare. Having the right support system has always been a challenge for me so I decided that something had to change. I wanted to do something exciting, something I could be passionate about and something that would benefit my children and I. In the mist of trying to find the perfect business idea, I thought about the things I liked the most and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I am such a fragrance girl! I absolutely love to smell, feel and look good. I had searched for many years, in several beauty/ cosmetic stores and it has always been a challenge for me to find shower gels, lotions, and body scrub products that have those sweet yet unique fragrances that I like. Everything had a basic color and common scents, they were just in a different store. After doing some research, Prissaholic was born. I wanted to create a brand that would not only entice my customers through my creativity but I also wanted to share how body scrubs helped with soothing my eczema.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
This journey has been very challenging. Most people think their business will “blow up” after starting but that is not the case. From having to create my products, labels, content creating, shipping, marketing and don’t get me started on customer service. Making sure that your customers are satisfied is number one. I constantly have to promote my brand across social media to reach new customers. It’s a lot of work! The easiest thing for me is making the products, LOL!
