Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Brown.
Hi Nick, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have loved cigars for years now and I actually tried getting a job at a local cigar bar, but there was never any room for them to bring on new employees. I knew I wanted to pursue it professionally and was thinking about opening my own shop, but when I saw the initial investment, I knew I wasn’t there yet.
One day, my wife, Danielle, and I were discussing the popularity of mobile vendors and we came up with the idea of the mobile lounge.
We contacted Aero Build in Nashville, TN as their designs for campers were exactly what I wanted for my cigar lounge.
Now two years later, here we are getting to provide our services at a variety of events. I love that I’ve gotten to turn my passion into a profession and I’m meeting fellow cigar enthusiasts.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The biggest challenge so far has been the seasons; in winter, it’s hard to convince someone to be outside and enjoy a cigar. It’s too cold!
We are looking into creating an indoor space to host monthly cigar meets; we’ll see what the future holds.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a mobile cigar lounge, a true experience! We have the capacity to come to you at your event and provide a relaxed and inviting space to enjoy some amazing cigars.
We’ll come out to any event, but our main stake includes weddings, corporate events, and golf tournaments.
We are fortunate to work with several cigar brands who are very supportive of what we do. You know, when I first reached out to some of these companies, I thought I would be speaking to sales reps, but I get to speak with and work with actual employees of the companies, which has brought forward some amazing relationships.
Some of these companies are Foundation Cigars, United Cigars, Casdagli Cigars, and J London (where I actually get to speak to the owner).
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My wife Danielle is my biggest supporter, so much so that she left the dental field to work full time with me.
If it wasn’t for Marc Wheeler, I wouldn’t have broken into the wedding industry.
Shawn Morton with Bearded Bartender – he helped Danielle and myself get started with booking software and payment platforms. Always willing to lend an ear or give advice when it comes to business.
Will McCameron with Brewery 85 is a big supporter and is always cheering us on. He also put us up for this interview!
Our customers! We are lucky to have a little following and when we have a public event, we know they’ll always be there!
