Hidden Gems: Meet Nadia Hall of Esthetized by Nadia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Hall.

Nadia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always been intrigued in all things beauty! From the young tender age of seven years old, I started playing in my mother’s makeup and being obsessed with having lip gloss on at all times. I distinctly remember thumbing through page after page of the fashion magazines, all to catch a glimpse of the model’s makeup. After high school, I enrolled into college at USC Aiken, to study Biology. Even then, I furthered my passion of beauty, skincare, and makeup, by practicing on my friends and family. Ultimately, I decided to pursue esthetics full time, to become a licensed Esthetician. I attended Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, completing my studies there and obtaining my esthetics license in 2016. Shortly after, my first professional esthetics job was at ULTA Beauty. While there, I worked as their Licensed Skin Therapist for two years, in addition to, launching my mobile Esthetics business. Working as a mobile Makeup Artist/Licensed Esthetician, taught me so many things about myself, entrepreneurship, as well as a minority businesswoman. With hard work, determination, prayer, and sweat equity, in May 2021, I stepped out on faith, and embarked on a new journey, opening my own full-service esthetics studio, Esthetized By Nadia, located in Blythewood, South Carolina. I have so many new services, new endeavors, and opportunities to pursue, and I am elated to be able to share them with everyone, so…stay tuned!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Nothing worth having comes easy.” My journey has not been all peaches and cream. In example, some of the struggles that I had to learn to overcome were, setting boundaries and structure within my own business, posting consistently on social media, being firm on my pricing, and not being afraid to just put myself, business/services out there to the public freely.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Here at Esthetized by Nadia Esthetics Studio, I specialize in/known for makeup applications (for all occasions and ethnicities), full-body waxing, and facial services. I believe what sets Esthetized by Nadia apart from others is, the attention to detail of ensuring my client’s experience is comfortable and professional. In addition, to making sure my clients are satisfied with their service overall, to the point where it will bring even more referrals. In times of reflection, the growth and connections that have been made thus far makes me the most proud of my brand. In conclusion, Esthetized by Nadia Esthetics Studio was created as a secure, comfortable space, for women and men to visit, for ALL of their esthetic needs. In addition, to gain knowledge on proper habits of self-love… esthetically. All in all, I look forward to meeting and transforming a plethora of new faces this year!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Playing it safe is not good enough when our aim is to achieve something new and grand. It is easy to think that without proper experience, taking risks is meaningless, however, experience comes with time. Therefore, in order to propel my business, it would involve stepping out on faith, and taking risks even if it would make me uncomfortable. One of the biggest risks I took recently was, becoming a full-time entrepreneur at the end of May 2021. In the end, this was one of the BEST risks I could have decided to finally take, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. All in all, it is a great feeling, and I have enjoyed servicing my clients, all while educating them about proper skincare, in addition to makeup application, during this time span.
