Today we’d like to introduce you to Luvie Smith. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Luvie is a media personality with a background in radio & tv broadcasting, holding degrees and certifications in Communications and Radio & TV Broadcasting. She is currently the Host and Producer of the Nominated 2024 Charleston City Paper Best Radio Show #TheyCallMeLuv Podcast on 96.3 FM OHM Radio Charleston. You can dial 96.3 FM or stream live on OHMRadio963.org on Sundays at 5 pm and Thursdays at 9 pm. The show focuses on “Loving Your Gifts to Push You to Your Purpose!” Each week, a new guest will speak about the journeys and knowledge they have learned while walking in their purpose. This podcast was birthed through a calling Luvie knew needed to be answered, and that was to speak! This opened the door to creating They Call Me Luv Productions LLC., where she offers media training, voice-overs, and more. She continues to perfect her craft but also follows the direction from the most high! Luvie walks in her purpose and uses her gifts from above to be a go-to for prophetic spiritual guidance and dream interpretation. She is a WLMI Apostolic Prophetic Academy graduate, where she learned about using her prophetic gift for guidance and dream interpretation. Following a calling, she created #TheyCallMeLuvDreams, a life coaching and dream interpretation opportunity for those who want to develop their prophetic gifts and receive guidance and support while on their spiritual journey! Stay tuned for more from They Call Me Luv Productions, LLC.
How did I get my start- my mother is Patrice Smith, who started the Breakfast Club on Z93 Jamz in the 80s; she then was the morning TV news anchor for News Channel 4 in the Lowcountry. Because of this, I followed her everywhere and truly wanted to be just like her. So, when I went to school, I knew I would be majoring in Mass Communications. Fast forward to college, I was the program director for the radio station WTTC at Trident Technical College after coming home from Francis Marion University. During college, I started my podcast, Luvie’s Lounge Radio, which focused on the independent music scene. This opened the door to being a host for several years on those watch radio & many other radio and hosting gigs until venturing out to create #TheyCallMeLuv Productions LLC.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, lol. Tapping into your God-given gifts and walking into purpose came with trials and tribulations, celebrations, new friends, losing friends, and so much more. The toughest battle was trusting the gift of speaking that God gave me, knowing it’s ok to speak what you have learned in your prayer & meditation time and that no matter what people say, you must trust what you know and hear. I was worried about how people would look at me when I started to show my prophetic gifts and speak on things way deeper in the spiritual sense. The crazy thing is, I was being groomed for this and didn’t even realize it; I learned from my mother how to speak professionally and the ends and out of media, but as I grew, I used those things but learned my purpose was to take it a bit further and speak in a more spiritual tone, and that comes with spiritual warfare (now that’s deep). This road also comes with the push to have to be consistent! As we all know, consistency is hard, but it’s a great reward to look back and see what you have accomplished because of that consistent manner. I work 9 to 5, run the media side of my business for #TheyCallMeLuv, and do the radio show. It gets busy, and sometimes you want to quit, but you can’t!
As you know, we’re big fans of They Call Me Luv Productions, LLC. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
They Call Me Luv Productions, LLC. I started because I received a lot of requests for media work like voiceovers, commercials, and hosting gigs that stemmed from my doing the podcasts. I wanted to use what I learned in school and make it into a business. So, I currently offer multiple media services, which you can find on TheyCallMeLuv.com. Still, they include commercial work, whether in print, audio, or video, hosting events, and helping others edit and organize their content for media and podcasting. As time went on and schooling and certifications grew, I knew I had to expand. So #TheyCallMeLuv Dreams was born, which is my spiritual life coaching side of the business; I went and got certified for life coaching and went to a mentoring program to understand my prophetic gift for seeing and dream interpretation. I have been a dreamer my whole life; my earliest dream was around age 5. The dreams come as warnings, insight on what is to go and what to pray for and against, and so many people have dreams and don’t understand what they mean, so I am here to help open up that gift, and you understand it. I am proud to say that I am authentic, and the TheyCallMeLuv brand is all about love, spreading positivity, and helping others grow in their spiritual walk and purpose-driven goals. Everything I said I talk in more detail on my show They Call Me Luv on OhmRadio963.org 96.3 FM, which airs on Sundays at 5 pm and Thursdays at 9 pm.
How do you think about luck?
There is a thing called luck, but I walk in favor! All things work together for good, no matter what it is! The favor in my life is the reason doors have opened for me, which I could never have seen, and doors have closed because that was not the direction of my purpose! Favor plays a big role in my life and running my business. The things I am doing now are things I prayed for and manifested, and I am a true testament that you have what you say, and worlds create worlds, so what I put out will be returned. I always want to put out the light and pray favor surrounds me, and you are like a shield!
