Hidden Gems: Meet Jamie Fleming of Find Your Calm, Mama

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Fleming.

Hi Jamie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began what’s now known as Find Your Calm, Mama after having my daughter at the end of 2013. At that time, I was stressed, overwhelmed, dealing with post-partum depression and trying to balance being a new mother, being a wife at the time, taking care of home, and getting my work back on track,

Ultimately, I grew tired of feeling the way I did, and I knew something had to give. So I eventually began journaling more, using affirmations, started exercising and practicing yoga, and then I began meditating. And all of these things changed my life. Since I’ve been using these tools, I’m now less stressed and anxious; I’m able to live in the present moment and go with the flow, and I have an easier time finding calm when life is chaotic and overwhelming.

I wanted to share this experience with other women and mamas so they, too, could start experiencing more inner peace, harmony, self-love and joy, so I decided to start this business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles I dealt with is going through a divorce a couple of years after starting Find Your Calm, Mama. Let’s just say it’s not easy to maintain a sense of peace and harmony dealing with that. I basically had to start over, and it was one of the most challenging situations I’ve dealt with so far.

However, instead of giving up, I used the practices that I teach others to build myself back up, and I also used this experience to show how one can still find some sense of peace even when it feels like their whole world is falling apart.

Fortunately, even though there have been many twists, turns and failures, and I’ve had to make a few pivots, I’m still here, doing this work.

As you know, we’re big fans of Find Your Calm, Mama. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Find Your Calm, Mama provides a safe space for stressed-out mamas to overcome their overwhelm, find calm in the chaos of life and connect with themselves. My intention is to guide and empower them to take the steps that work for them to tap into their inner peace.

I do this by offering coaching, audios, workshops, speaking and products based around meditation, mindfulness, yoga and stress relief/reduction. A lot of times, these practices seem to be complicated and like it’s only for certain people, so I’m proud and happy to know that my followers/clients feel like I make learning these tools simple and accessible.

My mission is to help as many moms/people as possible understand the importance of finding calm and loving and caring for themselves. I want them to know it’s something they’re worthy of experiencing and that they can create inner peace in a way that works for them.

How do you think about luck?
I’m not sure if I believe in the concept of luck, but I do believe that when you’re doing your work, allowing yourself to be in alignment and trusting the process, things seemingly “just happen” or opportunities come from out of the blue. Even though I’ve had setbacks, and things haven’t always gone according to my plans, I have been fortunate with what I’ve been able to accomplish so far.
