Hidden Gems: Meet Evan Dinopoulos of Charleston eSurf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Dinopoulos.

Hi Evan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started off hustling in the city of Charleston as a bike taxi while testing out my parent’s car on a car rental platform called Turo to see if it was profitable.

After 2 months, I learned it was a great tool to start a side income, so I then purchased two cars over a two-month time period to start my own car rental fleet using the Turo platform.

From there, I got interested from others to teach them the same, however, it became apparent through others’ careers and lifestyles it may be difficult for them to run their own fleet so I thought to have my expertise and save their time they could start giving me cars and I would take care of it all similar to a property management company, which created my first business Charleston Car Rentals & Autoshare!

I soon learned the principles and discipline needed to become a business owner and thought why not start another business with my true passion, eFoiling!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As a 23-year-old entrepreneur, there are plenty of struggles in business, however, with the help of my mentor and connections it has definitely been a lot easier to handle.

My biggest learning curve was learning the waterways of Charleston, avoiding oyster beds, pluff mud, and sand bars that will send you flying off the board!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Charleston eSurf?
Charleston eSurf is a business primarily known for eFoil lessons & rentals. Those foreign to an eFoil, it is an electric powered board equipped with a mast and wing.

The board lifts up from the water after achieving a certain speed, making the effect of “levitating”. Unlike traditional foil boards, efoils do not need the power of waves to raise above the water since being powered by a battery and propeller.

This business is different from others because I am a trained professional and thoroughly love what I do every day, giving the opportunity for others to get to experience what I love to do and I think everyone sees that through their lesson! Something unique about my brand is what we have to offer, we strive to be an asset to all.

We offer social media collaborations with other local businesses, and our biggest hit is collaborating with local businesses with our flag ride-bys on the water. Similar to planes driving over the beach with ads. We also will ride by Shem creek and all the busy beaches with a flag advertisement for other businesses to gain attraction.
