Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Jennings.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I’m a woman of a certain amount of years and am constantly being complimented on my skin. I’m blessed to say that some of this is the grace of genetics, but caring for my skin has kept me being asked for identification to confirm my age in my 40s.
Being an original Charleston, SC native born & raised, I have enjoyed the surroundings and the beautiful landscapes of the south. Still, I know how environmental elements can damage even the best of faces. So being in the beauty industry since 2008 and a Licensed Esthetician since 2011, my drive to learn more about skin drove me to focus on curating the best products to treat skin issues and enhance natural beauty while encouraging others to let their natural beauty shine through.
I know good skin can happen with genetics. But amazing skin happens with intention, not by accident! So curating this skincare line was no accident but was done with intention. So I named the line after my mother as a dedication and my grandmother as a memorial. My family didn’t have much growing up, and there were many difficult times. But seeing these great women’s hard work and tenacity was enough motivation for me. My grandmother may not have been able to leave property to me, but she left me a legacy, and I have every intention to fulfill it. Inez Elizabeth Beauty is an organic and clinical-based skincare line that is pure and gentle, delivering amazing results. I’m incredibly proud as a licensed esthetician to have created a skincare line.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Life is rarely easy for most of us, and I can say that I am in that club of over-comers. I was a teen mother, and I overcame that to go from statistic to success as a business owner, growing and building my beauty business empire from services to products. Being an introvert and dealing with imposter syndrome has been a struggle, just dealing with that self-doubt that often comes up in the minds of creators. I was unsure of myself when I stepped into entrepreneurship in 2006 and then full-time as an entrepreneur since 2008! But I’m here to say that overcoming those obstacles of self-doubt, fear, and the unknown has helped me continue pursuing my passion. Dealing with depression and assisting my husband, a veteran with PTSD, has also been a large obstacle, but the love of self, love for my husband, and love for what I do has constantly kept me grounded and kept me going.
We’ve been impressed with Inez Elizabeth Beauty, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart?
Inez Elizabeth Beauty is an organic and clinical-based skincare line that offers an array of cleansers, toners, corrective & preventative serums, masques, and moisturizers. The products are affordable, but most importantly, they offer amazing results. As the creator of these products, I am the first partaker, I use them daily, and I wouldn’t provide anyone or recommend anything that wasn’t a benefit to me and those I love.
As the creator of Inez Elizabeth Beauty and a licensed esthetician, I specialize in skincare services. This sets the brand apart from other brands. The beauty industry is open to the masses. Still, unfortunately, the bar for entry is not high when those with money can enter as a smart business move. So you may see many brands that have been ‘created’ by celebrities, actresses, singers, reality stars, and the like. But they do not have experience in the industry, nor do many of them have a passion for it. That separates Inez Elizabeth Beauty from many other product lines today. I’m proud to be the face of this brand. Although I’m an introvert, I’m grateful that I am pleased to be in my skin. I wear it primarily makeup and filter-free in my everyday life. Most content I create is without makeup, and I have no qualms about that. Inez Elizabeth Beauty was birthed in 2017 in South Carolina. What are your plans for the future?
As the brand grows, we will soon be in other retail establishments. We also have a few men’s skincare products coming to the line. Also, we will continue to strengthen our brand awareness and educate the public about skincare and why it is a necessity and not a luxury.
