Networking and finding a mentor can positively impact one’s life and career. Any advice?
When finding a mentor: know what outcome you want to achieve, be open to listing, and be teachable. And look for a mentor that is fine with sharing information. Though be ok with paying for information if need be. And understand the difference between a mentor and a coach. A mentor is a second set of eyes, someone to bounce ideas off. Not to be there when you need me or at your beck and call for any questions, especially if your mentor does it for a living.

Networking: Be intentional about the people you want to meet and what you want from the relationship. Know what you offer. Don’t try to sell all you do at one time.

* When I’m networking, I research the type of event it is, so I know what I should bring to the crowd
* I bring plenty of cards, digital is good, but you may not have the time it takes to air-drop info into phones
* Bring your best self to the table!
