Exploring Life & Business with Laura Phillips of Libby and Maces Place Rescue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Phillips.

Hi Laura, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Rescue was never something I was involved in growing up. But 11 years ago, when my husband, who was stationed in San Diego in the Navy, got stationed there, to fill my time I got involved with a wonderful rescue there. And well, it has not been a part of my life since. When we moved back here to Charleston, I have bounced between a few rescues. Now with the help of my wonderful friends, we started Libby and Mace’s Pace Rescue and the sky’s the limit!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been easy! Rescue is hard. Making sure you have fosters, money for medical care, and supplies, and creating wonderful vet relationships. But we have a wonderful team who gives it their all!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Libby and Mace’s Place Rescue was founded in 2019 to help abused, neglected, and abandoned pets. We love helping medical cases and seniors. We also fully vet our animals before adoption so they can be their best, happy, healthy selves! We love being able to see their transformation in loving foster homes.

What are your plans for the future?
We hope to be able to expand our foster network, rescue more animals, and do more community outreach to reach the younger generation and teach them about animals to start at a young age!
