Exploring Life & Business with Chad Anderson of The CENA Team at eXp Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Anderson, Real Estate Agent.

Hi Chad, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my Real Estate career in Rochester, NY towards the end of 2019 right before the pandemic hit. I have always had an interest in the industry, but was a little intimidated by it at the same time. When we sold our home and purchased another, our real estate agent at the time suggested that I should get my license. I was teaching and she told me that some of the best agents used to be teachers and that she felt I had the personality to be successful. So, I decided to do it. I got my license. I actually started to do very well our last 6 months in Rochester before we moved to Charleston. However, moving here meant starting from square one all over again. But I will say, beginning my career in Rochester prepared me for what I had to do to get myself established here in “The Low Country”. It’s a work in progress and takes a lot of grind, grit, and commitment. I have been blessed to have had the pleasure of working with and learning from some great agents since I have been here.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road is full of craters, gravel, and dirt! Like I said, it’s a grind that takes commitment. They say that real estate is not a part-time job. Nothing can be further from the truth! The level of success is a result of the effort put in! I still teach (Afterall I have bills to pay and a family to support), but like I said, it’s not a part-time job. I put in late hours at night watching videos/recorded webinars, trainings, working on my brand, administrative duties, posting on my social media sites as much as possible, and researching the markets. However, I am in transition. This is my last year in education and there is a lot at risk. So, for me success is not an option…it’s a must! The biggest struggle is that it’s just me! My wife helps me in some circumstances by default, but at the end of the day, it’s just me. It is a lot, but I’m determined and focused!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an independent real estate agent contracted with eXp Realty, LLC. My clients receive services that are collaborative, efficient, and effective to meet their needs, using researched-based negotiation and marketing strategies empowering them to make informed decisions. I am most proud of the struggles that have made me who I am as a real estate professional. I wouldn’t take back anything that I have experienced! My experiences have taught me how to separate myself from the crowd, and more importantly, how to treat others whether a peer or a client. When I say “contact me for a different type of real estate experience” I mean what I say. I’m not selling houses. I’m building relationships. I’m soliciting the trust of my potential clients. I am building myself from ground level. And that same grit and grind and commitment is exactly what all of my clients get when they sign on with me.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To work ON your business and not IN the business. I am a brand!
