Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffany Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Jones.

Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I come from a very religious background that never truly resonated with me. I knew that I believed in something greater but I couldn’t put a name to it. It wasn’t until I began to submerge myself in spiritual teachings and research other spiritual modalities to realize we are all connected and that we might just have different names for god or the divine.

In my wandering, I stumbled across the tarot. I bought a used deck on Amazon because I didn’t want to commit to a big purchase. It was the closest thing I had to a spiritual experience in a very long time when I began to work with the deck. I fell in love with the imagery, archetypes, and history. I worked with it as a way to heal myself. It was a love affair for sure. My collection grew along with my education on the history of tarot throughout time.

I found so much healing in tarot for myself I began to read for my family and friends. It was a way to broach challenging situations or topics with those close to me. It wasn’t until Arcane Remedies in the west village was established that I read for clients. I saw an IG story that Sarah, HWIC, posted asking for a tarot reader. I messaged them saying that I was very much self-taught and only practiced with those close to me.

They had me come in for probably the most terrifyingly awkward reading of my life. They saw something in me and offered me a position as their resident reader and the rest is history.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not, I struggled with moving away from my Christian upbringing. I bought a few spiritual texts and decks that I turned into a used bookstore due to fear.

It wasn’t until I did deep religious trauma healing and deconstructing that I felt comfortable with my journey. It’s interesting how full circle it comes because I have been learning about Christian mysticism, Mary Magdalene, and the gnostic gospels.

In regards to reading for people, it has been a journey of worthiness to the hold space. People come to me with their deepest traumas, and there is such reverence and weight to the words I speak or don’t speak. I always want someone to leave a session with me feeling seen and held.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I use the tarot to create a conversational flow during my sessions. I begin each session with breathwork and guided meditation to set the intention of the reading. Together the client and I select cards and discuss the imagery, archetypes, and meanings.

Tarot is a guide to the unconscious and gives the power back to the client who is able to then take charge of their healing and insights. I am most proud of creating a safe and healing space for any person of color, creed, gender expression, or sexual orientation. Most of all, I want to be known as an ally.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was an only child until I was a teenager, so I was left to my own devices and had to entertain myself. I was an old soul and grew up around adults mostly. I had few friends and was a bit of a loner. I loved and still love to read and I had a vivid imagination.
